My time at John Marshall High school was great. The teachers were involved and cared about the students and most people were nice to each other. It was easy to tribe there and there were many departments that you could reach out for help from. However I have heard some input recently that John Marshall has gone downhill and is not keeping students accountable in the classroom. My time there was great, but this review may be outdated compared to more recent reviews.

VERY DIVERSE, YET NEEDS TO WORK ON TREATING STUDENTS AS SUCH. THEY HAVE A HIGH TOLERANCE FOR BULLYING. A STUDENT COUNSELOR STAFF MEMBERS' DAUGHTER WAS A KNOWN BULLY THERE 2 YEARS AGO...SEVERAL PARENTS HAD MADE CONTACT WITH THE PRINCIPLE REGARDING HER BULLYING OTHER STUDENTS AND THEY DID NOTHING EVEN AFTER SHE PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED ANOTHER STUDENT AND ROCHESTER POLICE CHARGED HER. WORST HIGH SCHOOL IN ROCHESTER. WOULD NEVER BE LIKE THIS IF DIANE HADN'T RETIRED.

This "school" has lost all control over their students. Students are leaving class during the school day to protest, while the teachers and staff are just sitting there. This school needs to change their priorities, focus on teaching and not politics. I would advise not sending your kid here unless you're okay with them skipping class. Ridiculous!

Send your kids to Century High if you want them to be productive adults. I can honestly say I didn't learn a single thing during my time at JM. Teachers would rather be buddy buddy with the class clowns and they don't prepare you for anything. Drugs, drinking and girls is all the student body cares about.
