We were visiting from overseas. We had a medical event which required immediate attention. The staff and in particular Kevin the manager were magnificent in the way they addressed the situation. We have been regulars off and on over the years and nothing as eventful as this has occurred before. We will be forever grateful.
Food & drinks: Wholesome breakfast. A great way to start the day

It was clean. Beds were very comfy. Good place to stay if you need to be close to the airport and want affordability

We have made Peace and Understanding. The Staff is Open Minded and Teachable, and just as I am Human, desire my Dignity and am Not Perfect, so I Forgive. We all Need Grace.

Staff was super helpful but I didnt exactly enjoy my stay here with all the construction going on, and the condition of the facilities. I read the reviews prior to making my reservation and thought, its been a few months, surely theyd be done by now??? Nope, theyll have construction for another 9 months.
I booked a room to have a quiet place to get some work done, attend a few meetings, and this place failed to meet my expectations. In its current form, I would echo some other reviewers. Place is a dump. Its like traveling back in time to the 80s, but the inside-out remodel plans are promising. It definitely has potential and I see the vision, but I would not recommend staying here for the remainder of the year, until construction is concluded.
Rooms were pretty clean but old and definitely need to be refreshed. Issues that I could identify include: a few stained towels, and the toilet, which has a unique feature of splashing 2ft up in the air and facilitating biohazards. The locks are loose which is not super safe. Some nonsmoking rooms have had smokers which is not the hotels fault, but its not pleasant for future guests.
The thing that bothered me the most was people showing up at your window unexpectedly while I was trying to get work done. I feel like in a hotel, theres an expectation of privacy, and its off putting to suddenly see construction workers or facilities maintenance folks suddenly at your window.
Wifi was terrible. Couldnt get a reliable connection for more than 5mins.
In my opinion, in comparison to other portland hotels, this wasnt a great value. Next time ill definitely stay elsewhere.
