As an educator in SE Portland center, the owner has not respect for my children and me. During the test, my son chatted with his friends for a few words. The owner was angry. Even my son did not time out, he rejected him and let him to leave immediately and didn't  give my son homework.  I send a message asked if my son did something wrong there  ? But the owner did not reply to me and did not communicate with me to solve this problem . A few weeks later, my other daughter thought that level was easy for her, and I asked if she could take a higher level as well but the owner ignored us again .  That's a really bad attitude.I'm not recommended this location

Visited this center and talked to the instructor Mr. Nguyen about Kumon program. Impressed with how the materials would help kids excel in math and reading. The class room is clean, bright and organised.

I was surprised to read the negative review on here.   I took my chance after getting a recommendation from a friend who has been going here for a year or so.  My son has attention issues at school.  He lacks focus and teachers have labeled him with ADHD.  I know my son does not have ADHD, he just needed an alternative way to learn.  I found the owner to be knowledgeable, made appropriate recommendations.  We started with just reading, and gradually added, math.   6 months in, even during Coronavirus, my son is doing better than he did when in school with traditional curriculum.   The owner has gone out of his way to help my son, at times caring enough to stay late to accommodate his clients!  I know I can go anywhere and get the subject matter help but customer service and more importantly, getting personal one on one assistance  for my son is critical.

Owner has a bad attitude.  Went to restart my granddaughter in the math program because the reading program worked so well in advancing her reading abilities. My granddaughter was scheduled to start the math program as the pandemic hit Oregon, we hadn't paid and decided to wait until  the pandemic pasted.  Well today we went in to restart the program, since the pandemic will never end, and we received bad attitude from the owner.  I tried to set up a test date, since the owner said she would need to be retested, no problem, Again more attitude so I said forget it we will go to another place where the owner appreciates his clients. He said that would be best since he didn't think we where serious enough about making a scheduled appointment.   I suggest you go to another Kumon . This guy certainly doesn't care about his relationship with the paying adults and he is extremely condensing and dismissive.
