My son traded his car in on Dec 7th, 2019, and found out today the business closed their doors, the owner is broke, and unable to pay the prior lender their funds due from the payoff he received from the new lender.
DMV Investigator has informed us we now need to go pick up his old car. The old car has not been paid off, and my son's name has not been taken off the old lender’s paperwork, so he still owes the old lender for it. My son has a signed payoff agreement with Pars Auto Mart Inc. dba PDX Auto Mart. What recourse can he do?
If you have done business with this company, you may have fallen victim their scam as well.

I bought a truck here over 6 weeks ago and haven’t received the pay off check for the truck I traded in. I’ve made 2 payments to the truck I no longer own. I spoke to my credit union and they said it normally takes 10-20 business days for them to receive a payoff check. I called pdxautomart to see about the payoff check and I’m going straight to a “Verizon wireless number you have called is temporary unavailable” really hoping I don’t have to drive 4 hours to find out the problem.

DO NOT I repeat DO NOT GO THERE!!! this place is a scam. I went to buy a truck signed all the paperwork and put a 3000$ deposit down on the truck, couldn't take it home because the breaks needed to be changed. called the next day to see if it was finished no answer, showed up at 3pm no ones there and 2 vehicles are on the lot. this went on for months. owner and car salesman number both didn't or wouldn't answer the phone. the whole experience was stressful and a hassle. luckily I paid the deposit with my card and not cash or I would have never got my money back. this happened on December 15th and I got the money back finally on February 15th. went through the holidays with no vehicle and no money to put down on a vehicle and still haven't heard back from them. if I could give them negative stars I would!!!!!!!!!
