This company just got done with a paving job on Idaho Road in Apache Junction which seem like took twice as long and it looks like the worlds worst paving job awesome another road screwed up by professionals

Sunland was contracted to work on the streets in our community (which is a 55 and up community). They taped poorly made and barely legible maps indicating streets and times that they would be working on our neighborhoods to our homes. The maps stated that they would begin working at 6 am and made people (many of them senior citizens who use walkers or canes) park blocks away from their homes if they didn't want to get trapped in their garages and threatened to tow any vehicle that might be in their way (numerous times on the flyer). People had very little indication of where was safe to park due to the poor quality of the map and lack of specific instructions. The number that they left for questions on their flyer would not pick up and had a full mailbox which did not allow for voicemails to even be left.
On their first day they proceeded to block off streets at both ends (that they weren't even working on and didn't need to be blocked off) which caused mass chaos amongst people trying to enter or leave their homes because we weren't notified of these closures. Then, they didn't even begin work until 10 or 11am. The community patrol finally needed to remove the unnecessary barriers after being flooded with complaints just to allow homeowners to get in and out of their streets.
Sunland then decided that the optimal parking places for their vehicles were directly in front of peoples driveways in areas outside of their work zone, blocking even more people into their homes and causing through traffic to barely squeeze past them because they were so far away from the actual curbs. They even blocked in vehicles that were parked outside of the work zone with no concern that people might need to go somewhere after walking blocks to their cars.
If that wasn't enough, they barricaded off a work area on a Friday and never returned to remove it for the weekend. Again community patrol needed to move their blockades to allow through street access. This shouldn't have been their job. This once again was Sunlands lack of caring for the residents and staff within the neighborhoods that they were working in.
The lack of organization, professionalism, communication and common courtesy for the residents of this community which they were working in is beyond words. Every day that they were in the community working caused confusion, stress and anxiety amongst the residents, community patrol and even the people in the front offices here.
Having them in our neighborhoods was a horrible experience. Hopefully the HOA contracts someone else the next time that any road work needs to be done.
