Life Care Centers of America is a big corporate chain of nursing homes that seems to not "care" about "life" at all. My father spent almost 6 weeks in one of their facilities in North Carolina and went straight downhill. We received almost no communication from LifeCare and when we did get updates they were completely inaccurate and incomplete. When my father was discharged he was unkempt, dirty, had unexplained wounds, and could not walk or swallow. None of this information was shared with us in advance (in fact, we were told he was "doing great") and we had to scramble at the last second to try to accommodate his needs at home. It appears that LifeCare neglected him for most of his stay and nothing they did helped him at all - and he went immediately into Hospice Care. At the end of his life my father deserved better! This company should be shut down if this is the best they can offer.
