Try To Find a Better Option

Three big problems: #1 My mom's wedding ring went missing while she was a patient at Haven in April 2013, and has not been recovered. This 14K yellow gold ring with a diamond cluster totaling 1 carat in a baseball diamond shape has huge sentimental value for our family. I couldn't get it off her finger for safekeeping before she was admitted. I was told on the phone that night by a Haven nurse that if it was too tight to get it off her finger it would be fine. I asked if they would cut it off and they said no. ADVICE: Do not hesitate to call firefighters if you need a valuable ring cut off before a loved one is admitted to a hospital like this one. Otherwise, you may have the same experience and never see the wedding ring again. The followup by Haven for ring recovery has been non-existent. I don't think there was an internal report or a thorough search of the facility. They did not list the ring on her property report when she was admitted, although an aide remembers seeing it on her

Please Read This Before Admitting Your Loved One

I will NEVER let someone I love stay in the care of HAVEN SENIOR HORIZONS again! My 65 year old mother suffers from an early onset dementia disease and was recommended to Haven Senior Horizons as a place to go to balance out her medications and help make her more cooperative in allowing caregivers to shower her etc. Her disease is new to us therefore, we have had to rely on advice from others when making decisions on my moms care. I had read the reviews before admitting her and I was concerned. However, I brought them to the attention of the staff at Haven and was assured that the bad reviews are not at all the norm and that the majority of the people leave the facility better off than when they arrived. NOT TRUE! I am writing this review with a very heavy heart because what I saw today and what our family has experienced is more than words can even describe. My mom does not suffer from any other illness or physical ailment other than dementia. She is young, vibrant , walks

Very Poor Patient Care

My father was admitted with dementia issues, but he was walking and doing well physically. Over his 10 day stay he became more drugged and less responsive The day before he was taken to the hospital by ambulence he was unresponsive and semi comatose. He had severe diarrhea and dehydration. He was very weak and we were afraid he would fall trying to get the bathroom. I told them I was very unhappy with their level of care and scheduled a meeting the next day. When we arrived for the meeting they said they had called 911 and he was transferred to the hospital. Instead of meeting with us to try and correct their deficiencies they just called 911 to get us out of there. I would not recommend this facility to anyone that cares about their loved ones.
