With the risk of gushing, this multi-generation gallery represents the very best of the studio craft movement. Moderne Gallery located in Philadelphia caters to collectors, architects and interior designers like myself. Supplementing their vast array of vintage and contemporary decorative arts is a deep trove of French Art Deco furniture. Ive relied on Bob and Josh Aibel for their expertise and inventory for 30+ years. They help make our interior designs look unique.

Stunning showroom with museum quality, wonderfully crafted pieces! Plus, free parking is available on-site. The lot is located halfway down Witte st on the left hand side.

Just a few hours before heading to the airport for our flight back to NM, we snuck in a visit to the Moderne which had been recommended to us by friend and sculptor, Jill Sablosky. It took us a few minutes and a good read of the website to find the parking area and entrancebut were we ever glad that we did. This gallery/showroom topped off what was a spectacular 5-day, art and culinary-filled visit to my old hometown of Philadelphia. We are sorry to have missed Josh and Bob, but from the moment we set foot in the space, my wife and I were thoroughly blown away by the legendary works in wood and ceramics being shown. As much as we enjoyed experiencing the work of George Nakashima and his daughter, Mira, and we most certainly did, we were particularly intrigued by the ceramic sculpture as we own a ceramics gallery and community studio in Taos, NM. It was all simply breathtaking. We cannot recommend Moderne more highly for anyone moved by the genius of great design and artistry. Thank you for sharing!
