Nizhoni Health did not inform us during the intake process that animals (ESA, pets, and service dogs) are "not allowed" to be around when nurses are over. We did not find this out until a nurse from Nizhoni Health arrived at our home for the admissions process and told us that if we had cats or dogs that they could not be in the area during the appointment.
In an apartment this size it's not logistically possible for us to contain our several cats into the same room at a moment's notice, let alone twice a day every day during home nursing sessions. We had no choice but to decline the appointment because we felt it was casually cruel and not sustainable to stuff our cats into one of our tiny bedrooms twice a day.
All of this could have been avoided by sharing this information during the intake process. I got the impression when giving feedback that it's Nizhoni policy to not share this information during the intake process because they go over it during admissions. What I find the most irritating is that had I had this information from the beginning I would have moved on and chose a different nursing agency to help us with my mother's injections.
As a result of not being able to have the appointment my mother had to give herself her own shot because this late on a Friday night we could not just suddenly find a different VNA to come out and do it.
3 stars because I don't know how they are as an agency beyond this experience.
