image Best experience I have ever had in a hospital. I recently had surgery and was in the ASU area. The surgical team were excellent. Rich in recovery was amazing and very caring. Every nurse both day and night as well as everyone else who helped me with my needs were exceptional and very helpful. I can't say enough about my stay. I never felt like I was in a hospital.

image The Doctors are very good but the receptionists are always angry and make thousands of excuses. I have my congenital cardiologist and I am calling to make an appointment and they only tell you that they don't know who it is to call when another receptionist is there. The cardiologist has already treated me there and now. They say they don't know who he is so I don't understand what I should do.

image For over 40 years we have been going to South Nassau, and this was the worst experience. My father who has Dementia was recently there for 4 days. The staff that personally took care of my dad in the ER was great. Except the night shift. Some of the nurses came on, made rounds and then went to eat and hang out in the middle. Then another walk around and then the Starbucks order came and some of the staff just hung out and was chatting or on their phones, with the ER was packed. The ER doctor informed us of an MRI that was going to take place. It was never ordered. Had to wait 3 days for it to see if my father had a stroke. Some of the staff in F3 was amazing. Alison the assistant head nurse tried her best to keep us informed, was kind and professional. Vince the night nurse was also great and the Vanda who was assigned to my dad. was awesome Unfortunately only until 3 days in did we hear from a doctor on what was going on. The communication there is horrible. The last day there until he was moved to a rehabilitation facility prompted me to write this review. The social worked assigned never came down to even see who my dad was or to my brother who was at my dads bed side. She called me on the phone. It took forever to get in contact with her. The patient advocate told me on Wednesday she would call me back, I had to leave another message Thursday evening to find out what was going on. When she did call me back, instead of leaving me a detailed voice mail of what was going on she simply stated, :if you want to call me back here is my number". Whom ever Michele is in F3 should be fired, very rude on the phone and she couldn't find my dads sneakers that was left behind for 5 hours. Finally it was in the same place I told her 3 different times. She also was trying to find out about the medication that my dad was on and for how long should he continue. She had no clue and the myhealth portal that was supposed to be update was incomplete. No one came in to mop the floors or clean. The public bathrooms were so bad my kids had to hold it in until they got home from visiting. Garbage was overflowed the pail and urine all over the floor and toilet. This stayed like this from the day shift to the night shift.

image Staff was great. From ER, to the Nurses to the Aides. But housekeeping was absolutely disgusting. Non patient bathrooms were not touched at all and this was during the day. Even 10 hours later Garbage piled up out of the baskets, urine on the floors, no soap.The floors in the rooms were never mopped. This used to be such a clean hospital. It went down the drain
