image Ray Gura is an excellent salesman. He left us alone to decide what we wanted. Then he had all of the answers. We decided on a Flexsteel reclining sofa. They carry extremely good quality furniture. There was a lot to choose from and that was the hardest part, choosing the couch. The prices are very competitive with free delivery.

image Well I guess their service is only for the people that they want to service. I walk in with my daughter looking for a new living room set. 4 older salesmen are standing at the door, not a single one greets us. Looks us dead in our eye turns around a calls a woman from the back to show us around. The woman then takes us to a section of recliners and says ok look around and I will come find you. I had a more immersive experience shopping for a mattress elsewhere. Will not spend my money there, I suppose they dont want it any way. I really dislike existing in my own skin some time.

I constantly remind and encourage all of our sales staff at both locations to friendly greet and acknowledge all customers. In addition, I conducted a sensitivity training session with both groups of sales people on February 24th to improve on all the areas you addressed. After we greet and direct a customer to the right product area, we often find customers like to have a few minutes to themselves to browse and try the products, where we don't hover over them. Yet there is a fine balancing act to also be present to answer questions and educate on the product features at the same time. Thank you for your meaningful feedback. image First of all, 1 star is 1 star too many! We purchased two custom made Bestway power recliners for over $1,200 each and the purchase was based on the guarantee from our sales rep that the cushions were high quality and would not sag....she lied!!! After waiting a year to get these items, they arrived in 2022. The console cushions and backing collapsed less than 1 year after receipt in 2023, and we are not large individuals. Fish Furniture corrected the issue at no cost, however, the quality of the material used was equal to craft store material and they collapsed again 3 monthe later. Due to a family illness for all of 2023, I could not address this issue until 2024; we used bed pillows as cushions for support in 2023. In 2024 a rep came out to evaluate the cushions and said they weren't that bad, but I question if he'd have a different opinion if it were his purchase. He said we could repeat the repair process again but the material would be the same and under warranty but labor would be $150. So rather than pay $150 for low quality repairs every 3 months, I will take a loss and sell this console as I did the other loveseat purchased at the same time. We waited 30 years because this business is expense, but we thought we'd step out and do this as a retirement gift and because of their reputation and boasting of high quality products, an expensive mistake on our part. This has been a nightmare. And my opinion of the sales rep is she operated with a true lack of integrity by promising all the things important to us to secure the sale. Because of this experience, I will never deal with this business again. It's my opinion their reputation is truly over rated! I will also file a complaint with the Attorney General's Consumer Affairs
4/5/24 I feel it's important to comment on the response from the owner of Fish Furniture regarding my review. He is the one that is not telling the whole story. They did not go above and beyond, it is in the contract that if the cushions sagged within the first year, repairs would be covered at the expense of Fish Furniture. So he's no hero. And to suggest that a person can buy a recliner but should not sit in it for very long watching TV because the cushions will soften is outrageous. These didn't soften, they completely sagged. The other comment he made during our phone conversation that I did not list in my review was the yellowing of the fabric within the first year....said it was normal. I particularly take offense to being called a liar by telling me he didn't believe that his sales person guaranteed us anything about the cushions.
He said I waited another year and a half for a second repair, is simply not true. It was a year after the failed repair in March of 2023; my husband was critically ill from March 2023 until his recent passing. You should be ashamed to call yourself a business man who appreciates his customers.
So if you want to buy furniture you can't sit on or let the sun hit it, and be called a liar when you realize you've been cheated ....Fish Furniture is the place for you! I can tell by your false comments and eagerness to make yourself appear to have helped us resolve this out of the goodness of your heart, tells me you are a true salesman and your training has spilled over to your team.
This is the last communication regarding this nightmare.

Dear Nancy Brown,Thank you for being a Fish Furniture Customer. I am sorry you are disappointed with your purchase. You bought a double recliner loveseat with console in 2021 and received it in your home January 2022. You called ten months later in November 2022, to state the seat cushions had broken in and gotten softer. We sent our service tech Bob to your home. All of our service was done at no charge to you. Bob is a furniture expert and has been doing this for 30 years. The break in on the foam seat cushions was normal wear and tear per the Manufacturer specifications. You did share above that you are retired. Your very nice bungalow home near our North Olmsted store has only this double recliner seating in the room directly in front of your TV. We can only conclude that you're using this for your daily main seating perhaps 8 to 12 hours daily, or more.This manufacturer is a $200 million dollar a year manufacturer in southern Indiana. They are a very good value in lower price points in our industry. Nearly every furniture dealer in Cleveland and Northern Ohio carries this manufacturer. They only offer one standard firmness of seat cushion foam. The manufacturers in our industry build the seats for comfort. Meaning they have give and compression and conformity to the shape of a person's back and bottom. If the manufacturer made the seats and back very firm like concrete, they would hold their shape better. But it would be a trade off with less comfort. Bob explained this to you. And to help you we replaced the seats for you in 2022, at our own expense. Now another year and a half later you call us again asking us to come over and inspect your foam seats for a second time. We diligently serviced you each time. Bob did observe the same normal break in and wear and tear when he was in your home yesterday. If you were to send a photo of your seats to the manufacturer, they would reply that this is normal break in and wear and tear, particularly with the many hours of use every day.I phoned you personally today on your home phone and left you a voicemail message to review and discuss this. You did not pick up. We again offered to help you and perhaps pick up half the cost out of our pocket if you want new foam seat cores again. Again we have no manufacturer warranty to fall back on. Everything we did previously and now was over and above to try to help you. My 40 years of experience tell me you would be much happier with a much firmer seat cushion Loveseat from a different manufacturer. I do not believe your above review tells the accurate story of how we have gone over and above to help you. My phone call today to you, just a few hours after you posted this review, demonstrates our integrity. And that we have serviced you each time you phoned us. Also Julie, our sales designer, is a true professional who has been helping our Customers for over 30 years. We get many compliments monthly from our customers about how well she helps them. The many Best sofas and recliners you sat on in our showroom all have the same medium firmness of cushion core and feel similar. I think you are looking for an extra firm seat cushion and this manufacturer simply does not offer it. Just the same standard seat core you tried in our showroom and the same standard seat core in your home. Both the first time and the second time. And we are offering to help cover some of the cost for your third time. Since the manufacturer only offers this standard core, I do not believe you will be happy with changing it again.If you would like to explore purchasing a much firmer loveseat from a different manufacturer, I would be happy to help you here and give a portion of your original purchase towards a new firmer one. image After shopping at a few furniture stores and getting nowhere close to purchasing new sofas and chairs for our family room, we were ready to give up. We decided to make one more stop at Fish Furniture. Thankfully we did! We were immediately greeted by Roger Mucci and that started a great experience for us. Roger listened to what we wanted and took the time to show us different items until we found the one we liked. He provided us with all the dimensions and fabric samples to take home with us. There was never any pressure to buy.... he kept providing advice and information until we were comfortable enough to buy. We purchased two sofas and two chairs this morning and have already scheduled time to update other furniture with Roger. See Roger at Fish Furniture in North Olmsted...you won't be disappointed!
