Ive now completed 15 classes and I love that every teacher has something new and compassionate to share. Being a part of the Zenya community has been life changing in the best way possible. Everyone is kind and encouraging. I even signed up for the instructor training because I want to learn everything.

If you are looking for a wonderful environment to practice Yoga (and support a women run business) look no further. They have classes designed for all levels (Im enjoying the beginner levels) and the instructors are friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Namaste.

SCAMMER ALERT!!! I signed up for their YOGA teacher training in Sept of 2023. I am disabled veteran. This school, particularly Courtney Cunningham, lied to me to get me to sign a contract for the school. I would of never went there if they didnt accept VA benefits. She claimed she could accept GI Bill/Veteran Benefits. That was lie. She even had me sign a contract and took my bank info! When i tried to hold her accountable she portrayed me as a crazy person. She also refused to return my money i had paid in. I was never supposed to pay anything under my GI Bill and she lied to me. I even called the VA and Yoga Alliance afterwards to try to rectify it. I am commenting now because i see they lost their YA cert and i want to warn people to STAY AWAY FROM THESE WOMEN!
They also scammed other girls in my class and are and are still charging them and even turned them into collections!
If you look them up, Zenya doesnt even have a n active business license!!!!!
If you check they also dont even have their Yoga Alliance credentials anymore.
That means you wont be able to join completing their course. They are omitting that from all their advertisements i see.
The cream on top of all this was Courtney banned me from all Zenya locations after she lied, misled, and stole FROM ME! She then had the audacity to present me as the aggressor for defending myself.
I would never recommend this school nor would i go to their yoga studio even if i wasnt banned. When i was in their classes i learned minimal yoga & inaccurate information. I got a better education once i restarted my instructor school through a REAL YOGA ALLIANCE CERTIFIED COURSE. (Yoga Renew, you should look it up if you want to be a REAL YA instructor ) I completed my certificate before the projected class graduation date that was priorly set when i was in that class. It became obvious to me quickly Zenya added extra criteria so they could charge more.
Also, Maurie who owns the Zenya building in Portsmouth knows Courtney was scamming disabled veterans. He tried to play dumb and even invited me to his home i think to dissuade me from blowing the whistle. But i didnt stop.
This studio is sh1tsta1n on the YOGA community and doesnt follow the lifestyle and its teachings as they claim they do. Protect yourself if you go to this studio. Definitely dont give them your bank info!!!!

I just completed my fifth class and am in love with coming to this studio. I do not have the stereotypical yogi body that we see in the media, and so I was nervous about feeling uncomfortable, but nothing could be further from the truth. Everyone is so welcoming and the instructors always welcome people to modify poses and encourage listening to our own body. In just three classes, I felt a change in my posture and am starting to feel strength and balance building. I am so happy to have found Zenya and can't wait to see how my body transforms!!
