image I have used Sommers Drywall for a few jobs small and large. Very pleased with quality and workmanship that was done. I would recommend for any of your drywall needs. Very personable and a pleasure to deal with. Yes I am a DIY’er but drywall finishing is one for the professionals.

image I am not one to post negative reviews (unless justified) but after spending $1200 for Sommers drywall apathetic work this is justified.. Joe and his dad started my basement drywall on November 5th and called it completed ready for paint on approximately the 25th. The drywall was about 85% new with the remaining left over from water damage. The 15% existing drywall was cut 2 foot off the floor with new drywall fitted and shimmed to match with tight even joints. Quick summary was these guys were given a cut and dry job at there high cost. I left them to perform the work unsupervised with the current pandemic as I should have. They worked for maybe 8 days for less then 2 hours on each occasion. When I was able to inspect the work closely in between my busy work schedule I was shocked to speak lightly. I reached out to Joe and he returned on 11/28 to revisit my area of concern. Joe and his father arrived and had observed that I had marked my areas of concern which were quite extensive. There polite demeanor quickly changed to rude, upset and very unprofessional. Joe told me I should have painted over the whole area of drywall and then called them back. Every screw hole was caked with compound, never scraped flat or any attempt of sanding. Most joints were left with jagged edges, ripples, bulges and no attempt at blending and no where in the realm of paint ready. I could see on a few areas they possess the skill to perform quality work but just wanted to get in and out to collect there money. This was evident with there desire to show up for minimal time each day. I am on a 6 day work schedule for the holidays and have spent the past two weeks trying to repair the disaster they left . I am not even close to a drywall professional but I know to expect a flat smooth wall from a drywall professional at this cost. This work was at the level you would expect hiring a friend for $100 bucks and a case of beer. I hired Sommers for this job mainly because I have no time to do it myself and few contractors in our rural location.. These guys provided no written estimate , receipt or accountability for there work. I was left $1200 poorer and twice the dust and work to now prepare for finish and paint myself . My advice is stay away from Sommers, check there references and assure they are licensed , insured and monitor the work daily. Summary : This is why I do every bit of work myself because most contractors and handyman have zero integrity ,they will take your money and run.
