Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop Bar in New Orleans is a must-visit for history buffs and bar enthusiasts alike. As the oldest bar in America, it exudes charm and character. I had a delightful time sipping on a whiskey and ginger with my Momma while soaking in the unique ambiance. The dim lighting, old-world decor, and cozy atmosphere transport you back in time. It's the perfect spot to unwind and immerse yourself in the rich history of New Orleans.

This is a NOLA Icon. I was return very happily surprised at seating availability. It was mobbed but there were still indoor tables and patio options. It wasn't as crazy as I suspected it might be either. I really recommend this historic landmark.
Try the Drunk Cherry Bombs but they are STRONG!!!
Kid-friendliness: It's a bar in a adult section of bourbon street. It a neat historic building and kinda neat inside. But there were some rowdy patrons and some NAFW Bead Requests. This is nit legal technically bit it happens and this was a random Wednesday. ( ) ( )
