This is our second experience with CarMax. The first time was good (that was just about ten years ago). So good that I couldn't imagine it could be any better. Well - it was! Michael, who we dealt with about three weeks ago was the most patient, helpful, warm and knowledgeable car salesman we've ever had the pleasure to deal with. The next time we need another car I hope we find another Michael - or if he's still working we'd be delighted to deal with the original!
We could not be more pleased.

My first experience at CarMax and I'd give it six stars if I could. I'd been anxious about the process of selling / buying a vehicle and not only did the team member I worked with (Al Styles, you're a star!) help ease that anxiety; he was patient, helpful, and even helped wrangle my parents while I finalized everything. The customer service, fair pricing, end-to-end frictionless experience of buying AND trading in my old vehicle was exceptional.

AWFUl, AWFUL, AWFUL...WORSE THAN AWFUL!!! I purchased a car from Carmax in February 2024. During the process Carmax representatives performed two (2) hard credit checks on me. One was authorized. One WAS NOT authorized. Their representative screwed up and when I asked a question about something, she cancelled the current offer I had, and generated a new one without my authorization. Her supervisor apologized--after listening to the recording of the call, and took responsibility. Now, for the past two, months I have been trying to have Carmax remove the Second UNAUTHORIZED HARD CREDIT CHECK from my account. IT has been a complete nonsense. A never ending round of emails from various people who refuse to assist and contend they cannot remove the inquiry. AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL AWFUL. WIll not be purchasing from CARMAX in the future.
