Tim and his crew did a great job removing an old retaining wall, and pouring a beautiful new steps between my driveway and backyard at my south Minneapolis home. (Fall 2023)

We had our front steps and walk replaced by Mill City. From start to finish they were prompt, communicative, clean, extremely helpful, and professional all around. They also helped us with some additional last minute work on the project that they didn't have to do, but saved me a TON of work.

UPDATE: On 12/21/23 I won the small claims case that Mill City filed against ME after doing a miserable job. Finally did my homework in preparation and what's important to know is that Mill City isn't licensed to do business in the State of MN. They can't do anything that requires a permit. Really, their ridiculous contract tells you who they are. Highlights: you agree to go to small claims court if they screw up (which maxes out at $15k settlements) or else you pay for their attorney; you are responsible for ensuring all materials are to specifications including the cement itself; the jobsite is kept safe; and, so much more! If you've hired them and can't get out of it make Tim outline his plan in writing before he brings over his crew. If you haven't hired them yet, just don't.
AVOID! I hired them this April to replace my 25 x 35 basement floor and they failed miserably. They did my front yard cement last year and when I had an issue they were great, so I hired them again. BIG MISTAKE. They botched the job completely and instead of fixing it they are SUING ME. Long story short, water from the newly finished cement condensed onto the ceiling and walls and ran off the pipes and crumbled the walls which flaked and chunked off. The freshly poured cement didnt stand a chance. WORSE, they didn't give the floor enough time to cure to do the last smoothing steel coat so the entire floor finish is uneven (think frosted cake) instead of the smooth, hard finish they said I should do. Did I mention large cracks that are forming all over? To TOP IT OFF, they broke my boiler which needs to be replaced at $11k and is another story altogether. Tims reaction? Nothing should or could be done. Quote, "I hate to say it this way but it's just a basement". Said it would look better in 90 days after it fully cured. Well, I wasn't going to pay for their mistakes so he changed his tune and offered to "make it right". Offered to put a sealant on it and patch the divets (that he had just said were unfixable). I chose to wait 90 days to see how it looked and whether or not I was going to ask for part of my $5k down payment back. I brought in 2 different concrete contractors who confirmed the job was done incorrectly. UPDATE: Tim made one attempt to fix his mistakes which was his suggestion to wash the rust marks with soap and water and to patch the divots that he said were unpatchable. His next response was info about our small claims court hearing the week before it.

We are so pleased with the work that Mill City Concrete did for us. We are in a townhome that shares front steps with our neighbor, so the full job was sidewalks and steps for two homes. Tim worked with us to design a beautiful updated look and was patient when we had to get the HOA approvals. The demo crew was efficient and careful with the brickwork on the front of our home. The crews that did the pouring were kind (especially when we had to get around them to walk the dog!), and efficient as well. Everyone cleaned up after themselves and you could tell they all cared about taking good care of our home. They even went above and beyond and brought in some dirt to protect the edges through this coming winter until we can redo our landscaping and patched our driveways where the new sidewalks meet them. Truly cannot express how happy we are with the work they did and would highly recommend them for any concrete work you need.
