I booked a car with America Best at the Clarion Inn by Miami Airport. I tried to call the day before our arrival and they would answer and hang up instantly. I called several times. I finally got someone to answer very late in the day to inform them I was going to be later than originally thought. The next day we ran into a very bad luck with our airlines and spent all day in airports and sitting in a plane. I thought we still may be able to make it to get the car, but they were closed when we got to the hotel.
The next morning I stopped by to see if I could rent a car a few days later (after our cruise). He said sure, then I told him I was the supposed to rent the car the day before and he then told me they now won't rent to me, as they won't have any cars to rent.
He was VERY rude. Very unprofessional.
I should have cancelled after trying to call for a full day with this jerk picking up and hanging up for hours. Some people shouldn't work customer service jobs. This guy is one of them.

Bottom line: AVOID this company!! I booked what I thought was a fantastic rate (which should have been my first hint that something was wrong). It says “free shuttle” on the website - which is actually the hotel shuttle, which runs every hour on the hour. I called the number in my confirmation email; no answer. I called the hotel; some girl says he isn’t here yet but the shuttle would be by in about 30 minutes. I didn’t want to wait so I got an Uber. I get to the hotel & now there’s a guy at the front desk & he tells me the car rental company is closed on weekends. I’m like ... I have a confirmation email? He suggests I go check the office; nobody is there. He suggest I call; I tried every number and no answer. I ask what else I could do & he suggests going to the airport to rent a car through someone else. But I would have to wait another 45 minutes for the shuttle to take me back. I ended up renting with another agency but this was an awful way to start my vacation and if this is how these people do business, DO NOT BOTHER. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Not to mention how much more expensive it is when you can’t book in advance - but I thought I was good to go because they sent a confirmation email. So awful.
