Called Paul's, who was referred to us by my our son who went to school with Paul. In an hour his tech arrived and determined that all of the freon from our 16 year old system had escaped. Rather than trying to repair a 16 year old system that could break down again in the middle of the summer, we decided to replace the system. Paul and his tech Rick showed up the next day and had the whole system replaced in a clean installation within 8 hours, at a competitive price. The next day the county inspection passed with flying colors. My wife and I are very happy that we can sleep at night knowing we have many more years of A/C performance.
