Hair magician! We were headed out on vacation and my son was in need of an emergency hair cut. The owner was so kind to fit him into his busy schedule. He also connected with my son, and made him feel so comfortable. My teenage son said it was the best hair cut he has ever had. His hair came out amazing! We live an hour and a half way! But we will be traveling to scissor head salon for our haircuts!

**Update 12/25/23 - Received a lengthy, five paragraph long email back from Julie Turner, the other co-owner at 7:30am on Christmas Day. She not only simultaneously offered apologies mixed with how "subjective" my experience and feelings were regarding what transpired, she also parroted and rewrote what I had written, then played the "years of experience card" on me. To make matters worse there was even more mild gaslighting with the mentioning of (more than a couple times) how "deeply confused" she was by my review and email. I have to say, that we are both on the same page here: she IS deeply confused. My tip in going forward: don't ever be so cavalier as to send a past customer an email on Christmas Day that essentially tells them that their negative experience had nothing to do with your establishment and it's environment, but with them.**
Scissor Heads website explains that they are a comfortable "high-end boutique." Then you can see the services they offer and meet the team. I was surprised to see that each person had their personal mobile #'s, instead of the Salon main number and didn't ask why when I called Shelly. Luckily, I did ask how much she would charge and she said 45$. When there for my haircut she boastfully informed me that she coul choose who she wanted to see and then said, " you know that, right?" She then went on to tell me that the reason she agreed to see me for a haircut was because "I sounded like a nice person." When I wanted to schedule an appointment for 6 to 8 weeks out, she told me, "Just call, I'll fit you in." When I went back there to get a haircut less that 6 weeks later and chose someone else because Shelly wouldn't reschedule with me, I got Jodi. Jodi was wonderful and pleasant and seemed earnest to build a relationship with me as her client and I told her that was what I was looking for. She also told me she would schedule me 6 to 8 weeks out. Then, it came time to pay. 85$ per haircut for my mom and I. Total bill was 175$. I unfortunately assumed this establishment ran like any other salon in that everyone charges the same price. WRONG. It was then that I was informed that they are all independently contracted. Jodi and I had spoken on the phone from the Salon before I came in and we also texted and her charging fees were never brought up. And, I didn't ask or clarify. What if my mom and I couldn't have afforded her prices? I was shocked. Then the other shock came when I asked a perfectly legitimate question: why am I being charged double the price for the same haircut? Shelly abruptly and rudely raised her voice at me from another room (even though I was clearly asking Jodi and not her) and said, "Because I didn't charge you full price - I didn't do that much to your hair." So now, in a rather humiliating way, I'm being informed that the initial price Shelly told me over the phone was wrong as well. I plan on e-mailing the owner today. No one should have to be humiliated for asking a question and it should be known from their website and hairdressers alike, the system they have and what they charge before coming in. Best, ~LaVizsia
