image We were out looking for pizza. Not feeling up for a chain offering we decided on Ginos Restaurant.
We were met at the door and promptly seated in what could be described as a den. Very dark lighting with dark wood tables and accents. The commercial radio playing clashed with this setup.
The server quickly greeted us. No drink specials were offered, which I found strange for a college town. We ordered Pepsi and received it right away.
The appetizers menu was very small, only four items, with two of them being garlic bread with and without mozzarella. We went for the mozzarella type. They arrived in about 15 minutes. Although they did not match the picture I had of olive gardens sticks, these were delicious. They came with exactly the right amount of marinara sauce.
The stuffed pizza we ordered was the feature of their menu, however they also had many traditional italian dishes. The stuffed pizzas are supposed to take 80 minutes to be prepared and cooked. This was almost a deal breaker as we were very hungry. We decided to stick it out and wait for our large cheese stuffed pizza with sausage and bacon. It arrived in about 30 minutes.
The first thing I noticed was the incredibly watery tomato sauce. After letting some of it run off, the pizza was delicious. Easily on par with any other stuffed pizza.
Overall we had a great experience. Two people ate for $31.55, which isn't bad considering we still have half a pizza for another meal. I can recommend Gins Restaurant to anyone looking for a good stuffed pizza in Madison.
Atmosphere 3/5 Fair
Dark lighting with commercial radio playing?
Menu 4/5 Good
A pizza place with some italian and no excuses
Service 4/5 Good
Flawless. But she forgot the straws. Worth a 20% tip
Food 4/5 Good
Would have been a 5 except for the watery sauce
Price 4/5 Good
A little price high, but leftovers cancel most of it out
Overall 19/25 76%
If you choose Ginos Restaurant you can be sure of a good stuffed pizza.

image The shrimp linguine is awesome. I always get an extra dish of pasta sauce to dip the bread and pasta in. I make a delicious mess of things and it's just "savory". Try the Lambrusco wine - chilled sweet red wine. It's the best I've ever had. The wait staff seems great...only reason I said "good" service is because the one older gentleman waiter needs to straighten up a little bit: cut hair, brush teeth, and act a little more professional and he'll be fine. Girlfriend and I hoped not to get him every time we went.

image Terrible service, terrible food. I got pasta that was incredibly boring and my boyfriend got pizza that was pretty tasty but incredibly overpriced. Save your money and time and go to Mia Za's- way better.
