image While Dr. Paulie is great, Dr. Clark is one of the rudest, insincere veterinarians I have ever interacted with.
I took our dog in to check on a potentially infected post-op wound. Dr. Clark came in without a word, shined a light on the wound for a minute, took my dog's temperature (without telling me whether he was running a fever), and scurried out, leaving me waiting for 10 minutes. He then came back, took a culture from the wound, and as I started asking questions, such as how much this would cost or what his opinions were, he brushed me off and again scurried out of the room. Ten minutes later he was back with a bottle of antibiotics and was about to rush out again before I stopped him to say that he had done a bunch of stuff without talking to me or answering questions.
He told me, quote, "Dude I don't have time for this." He literally called me, a 33 year old he doesn't know, Dude. I said that I'm paying for his time and I needed some answers to questions I had. Again he said, Dude I have too much going on, before listing all the things that were more important than talking to me. I told him not to call me Dude, so he said, again, direct quote, "Fine, I'll call you 'man.'" I told him he could call me Paul.
He then started yelling about how he shouldn't have even been seeing this dog today and how he had so much other important stuff to be doing. I was absolutely shocked that someone was talking to me this way.
After demanding he stay and answer my questions, I left and paid at the front desk. I asked what his name was (we never had him as a vet before), and told the receptionist we never want him as a vet again due to his incredibly rude and unprofessional behavior.
They must have told him about my complaint, because while I was driving home, Dr Clark called my girlfriend (the dog is hers, but she had to work and couldn't go to the appointment) and tried acting nice and clearly trying to preempt my report to her on his behavior. Shockingly, on the phone with her, he had all the time in the world for questions and was in a good enough mood for a joke... regarding my question about how much a culture would cost, Dr Clark said to her, again direct quote, "You already paid thousands for surgery, what's a little bit more?"
So, if you do go to Blue Mountain, make sure you don't make an appointment with Dr Clark. Stick to Dr. Paulie.
Edit: Come to find out that the vet tech, whose name I don't know because he never said a word to me, gave my dog a pill without telling me. During one of my 10 minute waits for Dr Clark, a vet tech came in with what looked like a treat and gave it to my dog. This vet tech said nothing to me, and I just figured he was giving my dog a treat while having to wait. When my girlfriend called later to see if that "treat" was actually his first round of antibiotics, the clinic said yes it was. Communication was not Blue Mountain's strong point today.
