For years, Kiel Thomson and his team have brought heart and soul to WaterSteps international base in Louisville, Ky. In 2012 we discovered a 36,000-square-foot building that had been abandoned for 10 years. It had good bones but the tree growing through the floor of the main room pointed to a lot of work ahead.
We needed the building to look and feel good, be functional and provide for future growth.
Imagining how your home or business can become a place of comfort and warm gatherings, inspiration and productivity that reaches years into the future, is nothing less than daunting.
Like us at WaterStep, maybe you get the beginning of an idea but the real vision for it is like hunting for land in a dense ocean fog.
KTC has a way of navigating what youre seeing in your brain to reality.
Today, in our building we teach safe water and health practices to other countries, manufacture equipment, host thousands of visitors for tours, impact lives, and have workspaces that inspire, build community, and prepare us for the future.
KTC even helped us better entertain over 200 people at our fall Bourbon and ribs event this year.
Our idea was to have a bar to serve from.
Who knew it could look like this?
Kiel and KTC did.

New review for project at home 9/2023
Time to surface the deck but my back can no longer deal w 5 hours of pulling nails seated in baked old wood. Kiel sent over two guys who knocked it out in no time and hauled everything away. And having Kenny on your job crew is always a bonus! Hes a rock star!

Kiel and his team are outstanding problem solvers. At Yew Dell Botanical Gardens we have used them on challenging, nontraditional projects with unique constraints because of our National Register listing and our sometimes extremely tight timelines and budgets. On each project they were involved not only on the construction but also as an essential part of our planning team. This resulted in highly efficient use of our funds, on time completion and award winning results. Tough to do better than that.
