There is some decent stuff there but prices have gotten really expensive at Canal Street Antiques.
I like the Antique stores in Haverhill because they will work with you on price and many of the booths have between 10 and 25 percent off.

It's always been one of my favorite antique places to visit and shop for different items over the years. Just don't ever ever break anything ! I had a female staff member with a short dark bobbed haircut come after me yesterday who humiliated me into paying for something. I broke a $10 item and was embarrassed enough as it was. I was horrified and apologized but I could hear her telling everybody in the hallway that I broke something and then she followed me out to the cash register where I was charged $10 for a small Bud vase with a flower in it which was sitting precariously on top of something . I paid for the vase that I broke and I could hear her complaining that somebody was going to have to clean it up so I ran to the ladies room to get tissues and wiped up as much water as I could and I even picked up some of the glass . I felt terrible for breaking the small item but I don't like the way things were handled by this particular employee there who made the unfortunate situation even worse with her passive aggressive attitude. She was condescending and I lost my temper in the end and called her a b**** because that's what she was acting like . It's a shame because I've always loved the antique mall and was a long time frequent customer. Sadly , I'm never coming back after that. I hope it was worth losing a customer over a cheap item that was probably worth two or $3.
Accidents do happen. Antique places are often crammed with stuff and sometimes things are sitting on top of other items and unfortunately things do get knocked over. I've worked in retail for many years and have seen it all. There's no reason to make a bad situation even worse with passive aggressive behavior. In these days , Word of Mouth gets around quickly and I really really hope that this employee is happy that she humiliated me over a cheap item. I paid for the thing and tried to clean up the mess as best as I could. I think that was more than enough and most people would have just left and not told anybody.
I think about all the stuff in my house that I've bought from the Antique Mall, and I am a big advocate of buying from small businesses . I won't be back ever again. I left the place in tears.

Wonderful way to spend a few hours! Getting lost in every nook and cranny finding little treasures you never knew you needed!

Lots of fun stuff to look at. You could spend hours here perusing through other peoples treasures. Dont forget to go across the parking lot to the other building for more fun finds.

If you like antiques, second hand , thrifts, flipping for a profit, are a collector of anything, you should definitely check out this place!! It is amazing and enormous! We only got to check out the bottom floor in the back warehouse ( 3 hours we were there) we never made it to the shop on the main road, or the second floor of where we were. Tons of vendors, all with different items and prices. Mostly prices were good, a few were over priced, but it really didnt matter because there were great bargains everywhere. We will be back to do the rest . ( both buildings) I suggest doing it in moderation, it is a bit like going to a museum, as such cool amazing things to see, you just cant do it in one day! Go see for yourself, you will not be disappointed!!!
