image My 9th grade year started at John I Leonard HS, I did not like it at all and because I did not like going my grades and attendance suffered. My mother looked around and found Di Bacco school, thank god she did. The staff (some still there today) were wonderful, I felt like I was in an environment where the teachers actually cared about my development and well being. Shockingly, for a 16 year old I actually missed school during the summer. Some of my best, and most cherished memories are from my time at Di Bacco school. I highly, highly recommended this wonderful learning institution.

image I am a graduate of the Di Bacco School
There are a lot of things I can say about this small but important school, but the most significant would be that it saved my life. When I started the Di Bacco School I was a very shy and troubled young man, and I felt like I did not fit into society at all. I was a good kid; I had just fallen through the cracks.
When I was in public school I felt as though no one understood me, and worse than that, I felt as though I did not matter to anyone. I was very smart, but I did not learn in the same way as other students did. Public school was all about memorizing facts and taking test, then forgetting what you had learned, and doing the same thing over again for a different test.
From the first day I started the Di Bacco School I knew it was the place for me, even though I barely spoke to anyone for the first couple of weeks, in fact to be honest I only spoke when spoken to. They could have tried to force me to participate like public school had done; but instead they just made me feel as though I were part of their family. It didn’t take long for me to realize that Archie, and the teachers really cared about me as a person, and didn’t see me as just a number in their ledger.
Archie’s philosophy was that there is more to learning than just memorizing words in a book, he understood that each student had their own way of learning, so he tailored his teaching to the individual. He also cared deeply for his students, and treated them as though they were his own family. He was honest and straightforward with you, so if you asked him a question, you could be sure that he would give you his honest opinion, even if it were something that you did not want to hear. Archie and the people at this wonderful little school taught me honesty, integrity, and how to be independent. I have carried these lessons with me for over 35 years, and I often think of Archie and his family. They will forever be in my heart. Not many people can say that about their school.
I believe that Archie’s philosophy is alive and well in the school today, and if I had children, this is the school I would want them to attend.
RB
PS, I still feel like I don’t fit in, but I understand now, that that is a good thing, it is where my creativity and independence come from.

I'd first like to say: Thank you to the teachers and head director of The Di Bacco Private School; that took me in from Lake Worth, Florida in 1976 and (Graduated 1978) to the furthest reaches of my mind I could ever conceive... The Di Bacco faculty and professors dedication, support and love of knowledges has transformed my world into an ever expanding growth; to that I say: thank you again for a LIFETIME gift of mentoring me.
