Made a trip to Thompson Tile 03/25/2022
Arrived 3:25pm. Website said they close at 4:00pm. Sign on window said 4:30pm. Piece of paper taped to door said 3:30. Knocked on door, rude man came, opened the door, let us in to the showroom and said "we close at 3:30 so...." and then walked away and dissapeared. Descent showroom, but based on this experience, don't expect any courtesy.

The showroom is easier to navigate than other tile stores and the staff actually interact and make suggestions (as opposed to some of the other tile stores I've visited).  It's immensely helpful that they let me check out samples to see in my own lighting at home.  The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because they told me they were having a sample sent from another location for me, but I never heard from them that it arrived, even after waiting more than twice as long as they said it would take.

I am a tile installer and have dealt with and hold accounts at many Seattle area distributors and wholesalers. One of my clients shopped their tile at Thompson so I opened an acct there to purchase their material. It took a few days to get into their system but once I was in I was able to make my order. The bulk of the order I was told would be a week out with the laundry floor tile being 3 weeks out. Not too big of a deal as I had plenty of prep work to do and once I had the master bath tile, I would be busy up to or near when the laundry material came in. I decided to have the master bath tile (around 200 sq ft) delivered straight to the job site and was given 4 quotes by Daniel. I went with the cheapest. The payment was made on a Weds. Friday evening I come home to an email from Daniel saying he gave me the wrong quote on shipping and it would be another $100 or so. OK. Fine, stuff happens but WHY was the decision made on a time sensitive issue made to reach out to me for payment via an email and not a direct call to my cell phone? I was even IN the area of their showroom earlier that day and could have come in directly. But an email was sent instead and of course they were closed by the time I got it. Come Monday morning I call to get the ball rolling (which it already should have been long before then) and of course Daniel was out of the office. So I speak to another of their customer service people. In the interest of avoiding as many down days on the job as I can while waiting on the tile I decide to have it shipped directly to Thompson. I was told by the Thompson's associate that it could be there by Thursday or Friday. Hey that sounds great! Well this morning, Tues, of the week my tile is supposed to be shipped to Thompson I get another email from Daniel informing me of the shippers tracking number and estimated delivery date. Not Thurs or Fri as I was told, BUT NEXT TUES. Add 3 more down days thanks to inept customer service at Thompsons. This will be my very LAST order I place with that company. There are a half dozen far better tile shopping experiences in the Seattle area. I don't need the hassle of poor communication and mishandled orders when doing business with wholesalers.
