As a disabled USMC veteran I expressed my needs to have a finished building asap for my primary residence and was assured by owner and office it would be done before last fall. After all, it only takes a few weeks at most to put up a pole barn shell. That was over a year ago since I signed the contract and its still not finishedi have called, text and emailed mostly without response. They have over $100,000 of my money and I refuse their efforts to pay more until scheduled task are completed as per the vague contract outlines. As another reviewer stated they use subpar contractors. None of my concrete floors drain towards the drains and the black stain that I bought and paid extra for you cant even see it in the concrete. The building is not square and their subcontractors Wayover charged for finish work not included in the original contract. I have spent tens of thousands of dollars on Airbnbs to live in and lost income on the structure as a rental when Im not there. Im building the building in a commercial/residential area and the local business owners all asked me why its not complete after such a long time and are taking notes for their customers Im sure. If I have went with Morton instead of wanting to be with a local company I wouldve been finished last year.
Save your time and your money go with another company or Morton for any pole barn or house you want built. This company does not support our veterans or the general public its all about the money. I find it particularly interesting that their office continually billed me and threatened with interest payments late fines and I still dont have a complete building to live in. Contract clearly states when payments are due and I have refuse their efforts to pre-pay.
I tell everybody I come in contact with and post it all over social media. If you want quality work done dont go to Steel Design!

This business maybe good at steel commercially designed buildings. I would never have them design and build a home ever again! They delayed, I got very under-qualified subcontractors, very under-qualified even construction workers. Less than six months after the finish of my addition,
not even an entire home, things are falling apart! I've sent emails and phone calls and had very little response! If you were unsatisfied with who did the quality of your job the first time why would you bring them back into your home? Which is what the business owner of Steel design wants!
