image I have been living here a little over a year and just renewed my lease . I love the apartment complex in general. It's quiet and peaceful. The management works with me when it comes to problems with my apartment and billing. It's a ducked off area which is amazing too . The things I do not like about living here is , its over priced for the apartments that are not renovated at all (Like mine). Every week something is breaking in my apartment and it takes forever to get fixed usually due to them having to order a part . Also, the burglary over here is ridiculously high. And the water bill is not split fairly. They wait 2 months to add your water bill and its over priced . My water bill is never past $40 and I used a lot of water in the past . Now, i found out they total up every apartments water bill and split it amongst tenants in the building. Which is not fair at all . The regional or corporate office needs to do better with how they planned this apartment complex out .

image My biggest con about this apartment complex is safety for me and my roommate. The manager is not concerned that my roommate and I do not feel safe at this apartment complex. We have a police report and documentation on instances that happened and nothing has beed done about it. On multiple nights we have had to call 911 because we heard gunshots. The parking lot is extremely dark and is overflowed most of the time. We just heard that the people that live behind our apartment last night were robbed and went to the office again concerned about our safety and still nothing is done about it. On another note, My ceiling was leaking, maintenance came in to "fix" the problem and left my ceiling and floor a mess. I would not recommend living here to anyone.

image Do not move here I repeat ... I have friends that stay out there ... and it’s always something with their apartment homes ... even with everything going on these ppl will not work with you to say the least .. I have friends that are out of work and are forced to figure out how to get their rent paid ... I have never seen an apartment complex where they won’t work with people when they know there is a crisis going on.. Lowdown souls I swear ..

image Went to speak with the leasing agent Lisa about my air conditioning not working March 26th. Here it is May 5th still no air. I was told this was not an emergency repair due to the weather not reaching 82 degrees. Well the weather has exceeded 82 degrees multiple times between now and then. Went into the office today for the maintenance personnel to tell me my apt was not on his list. There has been no credits added to my account after asking about it and still no air. Thanks a lot!

image Positives:
- A relatively quiet apartment complex that’s secluded from the not-so-great surroundings
- The apartments themselves are fairly cute for what you pay for. For $630-650, you do get what you pay for IN RENT. The other costs however are a different story... keep reading.
- They’ve added lights at night to what used to be a very dark apartment complex
- Close to everything
- Fireplace and high ceilings in upstairs apartments
Negatives:
- Both leasing office staff and maintenance staff have changed multiple times in just 10 months. When we started, we got to know Ray and Ted from maintenance, then suddenly there was only Ted left, then a nice guy from Tennessee whose name I can’t remember who told us Ted was also let go, and shortly after a completely new crew who are the first ones to actually not greet us ever when seeing them outside nor chat with us unlike the previous three guys.
- Heating costs at winter - despite our best efforts to use the fireplace and keep the heat off while at work or low while at home - we were still at $130-150. AC during summer despite efforts to keep blinds closed, fans on and ac at high is $70+. These numbers are for a 1-bedroom apartment but they could just as well be for a house. Super high. Factor that into your rent. Insulation is poor, we even put towels in front of doors to keep cold air away during winter.
- Water bill is HIGH and not realistic; the whole water usage on the building/property is divided between residents. Did your neighbor take long showers while you tried to save water? Don’t matter, y’all will go halfsies on the bill.
- People by the pool are often loud and sometimes there’s loose dogs running by the pool and pool parties after hours yet nobody notices or cares.
- Definitely random drug exchange going on in some parts of the apartments and very loud music from certain cars driving by, which sucks for us regular working people.
- Dog owners don’t collect their poop. Dogs are often off-leash, at least five different times a random dog ran uncontrolledly straight to our leashed dog and scared him to bits. Owners didn’t seem to care, I saw the same dogs off-leash many times later as well.
- Trash is always full and not collected on time. It’s embarrassing if you have anyone come over; not only is it spilling from the sides of the trash and overflowing the smaller trash cans, but it’s also on the ground all over because hey, people stop caring since they have nowhere to put their trash.
- The walls and ceiling has either rats or squirrels. I’m not sure which ones, but they’re definitely there, gnawing and scratching.
- Lots of slugs around, LOTS. Spotted big roaches outside as well. Roach droppings inside cabinets despite setting up roach traps.
- After living in the apartment for only 1 year normally and quietly, no excess movement and keeping it clean, when we moved out our carpet was exchanged and we got charged for it. Read that again; after ONE year. We should’ve known this would happen, as when we moved in we were told they had just installed a brand new carpet. Looks like this is a habit so get ready to get charged as you move out.
Hope it helps someone, and truly hope the leasing office staff and maintenance staff gets better (or just switches again as per usual). We ended up moving away and renting a beautiful 2-bed house in Mayfair area for only $100 more than we paid for 1-bed apartment here, and it was the best decision ever! The happiness of our current living situation is toning down my review, I almost didn’t leave this but feel like people ought to know what to expect from Stone Crossing. Like any apartment complex, there are downsides, and these are theirs.
