image This is a great place. The love of God and bringing love into the community is just amazing! The kids area is fabulous, our kids now age 4-11, love it here, and the youngest started in the baby room, the ladies running that room are so amazing and have been running that room for so long. The team overseeing the kids area are superb and always have the BEST hearts! The kids love learning about Jesus and the bible!

image Completely forgot to write a reviews ages ago. I'm mainly targeting young adults, as I happen to be one, but I also highly encourage others to read this anyways. Especially if you're worried about feeling unwelcome or outcast by churches prior.
I've been in and out of churches most of my life. I'd say when I was attending church(es), I tried over 20+ in the span of a few years and none felt like home. I started regularly attending HNW around a year or so ago.
Problems I'd frequently run into with other churches:
1. Personal agendas, I'd see churches picking and choosing which parts of the Bible they did and didn't want to fit their own goals.
2. Perfectionism, many times I'd notice there was a literal or implied stigma that we have to be perfect, and that the leaders in the church were perfect, and those who weren't couldn't be good leaders or role models or even have a role in the church.
3. Overall unwelcoming atmospheres. Some churches didn't have anyone engage or even come talk to you. And some had no plans in place for member involvement.
4. The young adults groups were nonexistent or inactive.
Houston Northwest was the first place I found that didn't do those things. And they had a lot more to offer. A few key points:
1. The leadership does a great job conveying the fact that HNW follows the Word of God and stays true to that no matter the political or personal implications.
2. There is a plethora of members who welcome you, and talk to you at any time. Additionally there are tons of resources available to get plugged in with. From kids, to married adults, there's a place for you.
3. The young adults group is active and diverse. With bible studies offered nearly every weeknight, and socials/events nearly every weekend, it's hard not to find a place to fit in. They are all very warm and welcoming to new members.
I highly encourage anyone looking for a new church to come try HNW, and if we aren't the best fit for you, that you can find the church that is!
