Went through Costco for rent from Alamo. It was easy to reserve a car and deal was good.
Airport check out was great. Friendly people.

Renting the car from Alamo in Honolulu was fine, except when it came time to retrieve the cell phone that fell out as we got out of the car when returning it and got left under the seat. When we tried calling Alamo half an hour after dropping the car off, we couldn't get a LOCAL number to simply tell them to run out to that car and grab the phone to hold it for us until we got back to Honolulu from our cruise. We could only speak to a live person in Ohio! It was so frustrating. Two days later, after we had even filled out a report about it online, we could see via our phone tracker that they had rented that car out again (with our phone still in the car) and it was parked at a hotel on Waikiki Beach. We kept trying to call it, until it died, but apparently no one ever heard it. The phone ended up finally getting mailed back to us - after we had returned to the mainland. This probably isn't just an Alamo issue. LOCAL phone numbers need to be published and available, please! This issue could have been resolved so quickly and easily.

The parking attendant was very nice,, when he saw we had extra luggage he gave us a SUV for mid size sedan under same rates, thank you very much, you made our day.
