Keith owns the business and for years I was happy with his politeness and professionalism and his work. I even met his wonderful and admirable family and I felt he was dependable and helpful. However, that’s changed now.
This year after I had tried to be helpful and given him advance notice of several months, and allowed him to choose his most convenient appointment time, at the inconvenience of myself and another party, but he forgot me!
Then he made promises to show up and appointments repeatedly over two days, and it was no call/no show...and that was about six times over two days! He finally showed up at last, a day later, after too much unnecessary drama.
Furthermore, I had previously discussed concerns about the pandemic with him, and discussed vaccination, and I had asked him several times before to wear a mask to keep and my family safe, in or outside of my home, and the other times he had politely agreed. He had always been polite and professional so I trusted him to have enough sense to take precautions to keep us safe from the pandemic.
However, the last time, he showed up with a helper who was unknown to me. He needed a helper, that isn’t the issue. The issue is that I trusted Keith to know enough to help keep me and my family safe from the plague. And he apparently didn’t even try. He isn’t a child that I should have to ask to mask every single time.
He should have known to wear a mask inside my house when I had asked him every other time and I was wearing mine! However, instead of having any concerns about our health whatsoever, they worked in my house all day, without wearing masks! I was trying to wear mine, and I was disappointed and very upset about this level of disrespect!
Two days later I called him to come and do another job, as he had suggested, however he was sick, and he sounded very, very bad. I was going to call him again in a week or so when he got better, as he suggested, however, I got very sick right after, later that day, very bad. I suffered a lot!
I have decided that he was at my house, without symptoms, but already infected and extremely contagious! There is a serious pandemic going on, it’s extremely contagious and dangerous, and too many have died! I know people can’t entirely help if they get sick but people can and should wear a mask in someone’s house! If it didn’t help, doctors wouldn’t wear masks when doing surgery.
I had asked him every other time to please wear a mask and he did, so I feel it was surprising and extremely rude to suddenly not to do it.
Because they didn’t mask and they breathed and talked in my house all day, I became very sick for over a week, and I truly never get sick otherwise, so I can only conclude that he carelessly and thoughtlessly and rudely gave me his virus by breathing and talking in my house all day, but most of all by rudely and selfishly not simply and easily just wearing a mask, or a bandana. I even had spare masks if he had asked.
If me and my family had not been immunized, I believe I probably would have had to be hospitalized and probably would have died! That’s what is so hard to forgive. I am not trying to die or get sick. I am more upset than I can say. I don’t want to call him again, I do not recommend him.
Furthermore, in the past one time he gave my name and phone number and address to a hostile client who didn’t want to pay him, without even asking me if I wished to give him such a recommendation, or get involved with his personal problems.
This was not professional or considerate at all. And, I didn’t appreciate this at all either. I’m very disappointed because he was a good enough worker for years, seemingly kind, professional, competent, polite, but I don’t recommend him for these reasons.
Otherwise he’s always been nice and gone ok work, but I feel seriously disappointed. I don’t know how to get past it that he carelessly and needlessly got me sick in the middle of a deadly pandemic. That’s too high a price for me to pay. I just can’t recommend him now. Service: Water fixture installation
