HORRIBLE man! Belittled my son on the phone when we called him about a house. Told us don't even think about bringing a service dog in, and he doesn't have to follow fair housing or disability laws. Told us we can sue him if we don't like his answers, then laughed again and swore at us. We didn't even ask about it. He just went on a rant. I would NEVER buy, sell or rent anything from this horrible excuse of a human being!!!!

My husband had spoke with Tony on the phone regarding a potential property that we were interested in. A few days later, I stopped by the motel converted office to drop off our applications for the home. I already had a feeling about Tony Schmidt Realty when I tried to navigate the lackluster, never been updated website and social media page with literally no information about anything! No current properties- for sale or to rent. It was a joke. It gave off sleazy, lazy, cheapskate business vibes.
To my surprise, a nice woman asked if I needed help. I stated that I was there to drop off applications for said home. She then asked if we had a dog. I said yes- a Bernedoodle. She said she thought that the specific property had a no dogs allowed restriction- but she would try and call him to verify, because, you wouldnt have gotten this far if you had dogs. She put him on speakerphone & asked him about the dog. He stated he had never approved a dog for that particular property and that he couldnt help me.
Now, Im on my way home & I call my husband to tell him that we wasted time filling everything out & gathering our paperwork
My husband claims he remembers a specific conversation that he had with Tony. Tony unmistakably asked him about our dog, does it shed much? and thats when my husband explained that hes hypoallergenic and because of the poodle breed he is mixed with, no shedding at all.
The last point I will comment on hes worried about a dog, when the home he was trying to rent out has paint chipping everywhere on the exterior. The cement slab in front of the house is in horrible condition & an accident just waiting to happen. It looks run down. My husband and I wouldve done whatever we could to make it look acceptable, and treating it with care and respect. Apparently, those things dont matter to Tony. He only allows people who dont have/ dont like dogs- and really, is if possible to ever trust a person who doesnt like dogs? The answer is without question, A BIG FAT NO!
Figures he would be an idiot of a cringy salesman without a clue about business strategies.
Whatever you do, dont waste your time with this chump and his simplemindedness!
