image This country store, restaurant, all-around general store is very near the end of paved road that leads on up to Baxter State Park and surrounding area. It is across from the Roach Lake and a great scenic view of the surrounding tree-covered mountains. We always enjoying getting soft-serve twist cones. The inside is more unkempt but typical of such more remote stores. It is well equipped for fishing and other such outdoor sports. Although we didn't eat at the little restaurant, a couple was eating there and we have seen others on previous visits. My only reason for a four-star rating is because the price seemed high for our ice cream but again that might be expected for its location.

image My family and I shopped at the country store which was well-staffed, friendly, and well stocked. Definitely worth the stop for souvenirs or extra gear (TP, Snowmobile oil, Propane for burner stoves, sweatshirts, maps, when staying near the gateway to the Northwoods
