People like me who went to an IFCA college and used to attend and even pastor IFCA-affiliated churches know what those four letters truly stand for: I Fight Christians Always.
Seriously, what a terrible representation of Christianity the IFCA is! Having been mistreated by Bible Church college students and by the congregation at the first church I pastored, which is an IFCA church, I can clearly see through the lies and hypocrisy of the IFCA and its affiliated Bible churches and institutions. Bible Church people boast about how they follow the Bible scrupulously in all things, but in reality they only follow the Bible when it suits their purposes. Bible Church people look down their noses at other churches and denominations and crack on them for elevating tradition above the Bible, but in reality, Bible Church people follow their own man-made rules and traditions which have no biblical basis, often elevating those rules and traditions as equal to or above the Bible. Bible Church people will tell me that they'll stick with me or that they're on my side, but what they don't tell me is that they'll only do so as long as I mindlessly follow their man-made rules. Bible Church people claim to stand for truth, but in reality I have been lied to by Bible Church people more times than I care to count. Bible Church people claim to be loving people, but they only love those who they think fit their narrow mold of what a Christian should be like. Bible Church people dont care about helping individuals to bloom in their own way; they only want to force people to fit their mold. Bible Church people dont know how to love; they only know how to criticize and find fault with those who cant or dont fit their mold. Bible Church people have no use for people who cant or dont fit their mold.
And perhaps, worst of all, Bible Church people are so enamored with the smell of their own filth that it never occurs to them to do some soul-searching and consider the toxic culture of legalism they have created and the deep hurt they have caused to other believers such as myself. Bible Church people never take me seriously when I point out the toxic culture problem they have among them; all I ever hear from them is, "You need to work on being kinder and let go of your bitterness." When are Bible Church people going to confront the culture of legalism they have fostered and dismantle it? I doubt it will ever happen, because Bible Church people aren't humble enough to ever admit to being wrong about anything.
For these reasons, I have forever renounced the Independent Fundamental Churches of America and all its member churches and institutions. I will never set foot in an IFCA-affiliated church again, much less serve in one. I want nothing to do with the IFCA for the rest of my life, and I wish never to hear anything about the IFCA ever again. May God judge the IFCA and its member churches and institutions for their legalism, lies, hypocrisy, and wickedness.
