Situated on the corner of Washington and Jacksonâ€“within walking distance of the shores of Lake Michiganâ€“the historic Kirby House has functioned as a hotel, residence, restaurant and community hub since 1873. The venue is comprised of three restaurants (Kirby House, The Grill Room, K2 Pizzeria) a nightclub (Dark Room) and a variety of special event rooms. The Kirby House is a lakeshore favorite for happy hour cocktails, family pizza nights, special occasions and late-night excursions. During warm weather months, the main dining room, island bar, and second story deck are perfect spots to enjoy dinner and drinks after a day spent on the beach.

Great potential. Had the salmon dinner friday night. Fantastic salmon. Unfortunately a bit cold. Table of 6, probably cooked first, not kept warm. I suspect an inexperienced kitchen staff issue

Used to love this place. Their pizza is excellent. However, recently went based on past experience and found it to be overpriced for what you get. It was around $3 to add an additional topping to the pizza and they added very little of it. Disappointing. If you want a burger its $15 on the low end and you have to pay nearly $4 if you want to add fries. Hoping they read this as constructive criticism because I would like to go back if they would return to what they used to be. I suppose after Covid all restaurants have gone down this road. Going out to eat hasnt been the same since.

Ordered fish and chips. Heavily coated fish and very dry Cole slaw. Said slaw was a vinaigrette but didnt seem to have anything on it. Fries were seasoned and tasty but otherwise very unimpressed with food. Again. The venue is so cool I wish their food was better.
