Nutshell: Dont use North Shore Garage Door. I bought a top of the line opener and they installed the garage door sensors improperly, then charged me to come out and install them properly, twice, but they still didnt work properly. The last attempt to fix them was when they sent a technician who made some adjustments and then said the sensors were mounted incorrectly. He said the were supposed to be clipped on, not bolted and one of the bolts was cross threaded. He tried to charge me for the correct parts and the service call. I objected so he just charged me for the service call. A few weeks later the door would not close again. John in the office said the sensors are being bumped causing misalignment even though I insisted the sensors were aligned per the steady green light, and no one touched let alone bumped the sensors. John insisted the green light must be flashing and he suggested disabling the sensors so that the door would close even if something was in the way. I declined knowing the sensors are an important safety feature. He said they do it a lot when the sensors act up. If ever a customer is injured Im sure their attorneys will appreciate this review.
John said hed send a technician out ONE MORE TIME but Id be charged $49 for the visit. I said this sounds like a SCAM. You install the product incorrectly, then charge $49 to come and fix it when it doesnt work, again and again. John then said hed send out a technician one more time and not charge me but if there is a problem, find another company to fix it. We arranged a day & time but the technician never called and never showed up. I took Johns advice and found someone that came out the same day that I called. He made some quick adjustments, at the opener, not the sensors. He said the travel limits and the force settings were wrong. When he heard the story of what North Shore Garages was doing, he said, I stand behind my work 100%. It only took me 5 min. and I was in the area anyway. No charge. Please call us when you need service or a new door. I sure will. The opener has worked perfectly ever since. Be careful, North Shore Garage Doors is part of Garage Door Group/Fix My Garage. From the time the doors would not close I made several attempts to talk to Will Santiago, the owner. I left messages but my calls were never returned.

Daniel just got done with my spring replacement. Same day service and cheaper than the competition! Im absolutely satisfied with the quality of work and friendly service. No haggling no surprise charges.

After another company couldn't fix our garage door issue and made the problem worse, JV and Brian came out the same day I called and assessed the situation, clearly explained to me what needed to be done, and made an appointment to come back the next day to implement the fixes. While we ended up switching course from their recommendation, they were understanding and did a fantastic job making our door functional again. Would absolutely recommend them and the team to others.

What a great garage door company! I had such a pleasant experience from my time on the phone with John to the in person experience I had with Vernon. Garage door repair is a hot business online for lead generators but this is a local, family owned business, whose focus on service and satisfaction is unparalleled. Keep doing what you are doing!
