I saw this person at her Northwestern Medicine address of 350 S. Waukegan Road, Ste. 200, Deerfield, IL.
DON'T GO TO HER!
She learned that I had not bonded with a friend of hers, Kristen Dolling, who is also a gyno at Northwestern. She was so angry about it, she started asking me why I didn't like Kristen. I explained to her that Kristen and I had no rapport, and that I preferred to find a new gyno. Barbara Diakos--sorry, under these circumstances I can't bring myself to call her a doctor--became irate with me and told me what a wonderful person she thought Kristen Dolling was. "She is the sweetest person! I can't imagine anyone not liking her." When my response was, "I don't care," she told me that she was much "meaner" than Kristen. Ummmm, what?
Being "meaner" in a gynecological setting sounds like sexual assault to me. I left. I sure hope she didn't have the audacity to charge my insurance, but I never got a bill from her. She should not be allowed to practice medicine.

First of all, it's nearly impossible to get through to Barbara Diakos or her nurses without an appointment, and when you do, they are extremely combative with issues. They immediately go on the defensive, interrupt, and one nurse even told me I asked a bad question! Finding a new doctor.

I cannot understand the reviews that were written about Dr. Diakos. I am very critical and overly discerning about my doctors. I had an appointment today which was an amazing accommodation at the last minute. This woman could not have been kinder, more easy to talk to, more thorough, caring and professional. I would give her a ten! She truly believes in making sure womens’ needs are being met. She was up to date in protocol and spend so much time talking to me. Took me five minutes early! The office is well run, had online scheduling and messaging and the front desk is upbeat and welcoming.

Scheduling is a complete disaster. All calls are directed to a call center who schedule people - scheduled me with a different doctor and said it was fine to switch. When I got to the office the doctor refused to even see me regardless of my reasons for making an appointment. Also witnessed them threatening not to see someone who was 5 minutes late right after they wouldn't see me. Highly recommend NOT coming to this office if you want to be treated respectfully. Complained to the manager who was nice, but couldn't do anything to help the fact that I drove 50 min to get here and accomplished nothing.
