For me, this is the worst apartment ever. We called the office (emergency) because some were leaking in the kitchen, and the water was running nonstop. They said will come later but trust me, they will never come. DO NOT CHOOSE THIS APARTMENT!!!!

Would not recommend, the staff is hard to get a hold of when you need to speak to someone. There is no one on site to help with issues that need attention. The place has become very dirty since Ive been here, Ive seen people living on the streets enter the community to use the amenities.

My partner and I were really looking forward to moving into the Montejo apartments and everything was going smoothly at first. The place we wanted to move into had some pest activity, so they pushed back our move-in date, which was understandable. Come to the mid-week of our scheduled date to move out, electricity has been paid, renters insurance has been paid, our deposit has been paid, we were informed that our move-in date had to be pushed back another two weeks. To stay another two weeks and have to pay rent for both places would have been financially unsound. So we made the decision to stay and have our deposit returned. When we were informed that only 1321.25 of the $1800+ deposit would be returned, I didnt want to believe we were being swindled. But after not hearing any response via email after sending proof to management of the withdrawal amount from my bank statement, Im truly disappointed and dumbfounded. This month has already been so difficult on a personal level, this added burden has only made it worse. I dont know what type of shady business antics is happening with Essex, but this behavior is unethical and corrupt. Ignoring the truth will only cause further harm.

I've been dealing with the "property manangers" for a while now, the visitor parking lot is abused daily, so if you live here ask for your money back for parking! They are scamming everyone!
They email us every month about parking regulations, meanwhile it takes a literal act of God for them to tow a car that is in a space it's not supposed to be...for a week now!!!! But they did tow my car from my actual spot one night, that was nice to wake up to, being towed from the parking spot I actually pay for. >:/
I finally had pictures, time stamped, emails daily, and they said they still needed proof that the cars were in violation. PROOF?!? What more can I possibly do? Get a tire sample? Time travel? They don't come to the property to take care of anything, its impossible to get them to help.
The neighborhood is falling apart, they abuse the staff that actually works on site, and half the time I call in they just don't answer.

Essex,
Cease and desist all communication,
correspondence, and contact with William and
Shirley Culfin.
On three separate occasions, Essex employees
have been aggressive towards William and Shirley
Culfin.
On 08-05-2023 Adrian Lopez was aggressive and
hostel towards William Culfin. Mr. Culfin has
indicated that Adrian Lopez said to Mr. Culfin " I
will chop off your head". This action is
unacceptable behavior from your staff. Any further
threats or harassment from Adrian Lopez and Essex
employees will result in criminal charges being
filed.
Mr. Culfin has indicated, that Cynthia Suazo-Garcia
and Adrian Lopez are setting illegal cat traps on the
property of Montejo Apartments, with out public
notice by displaying "NOTICE OF TRAPPING". Essex
and Adrian Lopez are not licensed or permited to
set animal traps. Mr. Culfin reported this to Animal
Control and as a result of doing so, Essex retaliated
by serving the Culfin's a covenant and threating to
evict. This behavior is unacceptable and may result
in criminal and civil charges being filed. Mr. Culfin
will not be liable for destroying any property
belonging to Essex or Andrian Lopez. (Animal Traps)
