This company is awful. Specifically Kevin Austin and his crew. They laid the foundation of our shop - came out so porous that we had other professionals tell us it wouldnt even be able to be driven on. Kevin specially said he and his crew would be out multiple times to fix it or to mitigate the work - never once followed through. Bad enough we considered a construction defect lawsuit. Shady crew and company.

A business is judged not only on the quality of jobs, but how its employees treat others. EM Construction just lost my business, and I will let coworkers know about this unprofessional behavior.

Today, I was driving east on Boise Avenue, about 1/2 mile west of Timberline High School, around 1:45 pm. The speed limit on Boise Ave between Broadway and Law is 30 mph, and that’s the speed I was driving. In my rear view mirror, I saw a large white truck coming up fast behind me, and tailgated me for about 2 blocks. I maintained my 30 mph speed while the truck was weaving left as if to pass me in the turn lane. I signaled a left turn into Eastgate shopping center, and the driver laid on his horn for a long five seconds as if that would speed my turn. When i got into the left turn lane, the driver continued his honking, sped up as he passed me, and flipped me off. There were pedestrians, including children, on the nearby sidewalks and at the bus stop, who stopped to look at the EM Construction truck drive erratically.

Some Boiseans blame the angry, fast, rude driving on those moving here from other states. That’s just not the case. Another lesson: When driving a company vehicle with the business name prominently displayed, act professionally. Your driving is being watched.

I wouldn’t hire EM Construction based on this unprofessional, immature incident.
