image First of all I wanted to point out how difficult it is to get anything done with the front desk staff, it seems like they almost get defensive when asked to do their job. Secondly, I have wasted almost 2 months trying to get help for a specific health issue and it has proved impossible to resolve with them. They seem to best around the bush and try to squeeze out as much money as possible from you by making it obligatory to schedule an appointment over something that could have been discussed over the phone.

image My wife and I have been patients of Dr Checo for over 9 years and we are always happy to refer him. He is a terrific doctor with amazing bedside manners and truly cares about his patients.

image Dr. Checo is magnificent as well as his staff. They always manage to fit me in when needed, and Dr. Checo is extremely intelligent and knowledgeable and actually takes the time to speak with you. I count myself lucky to have this kind of care near my home.

image This review is not in any way intended to reflect my opinion or view of Dr. Checo. This is solely regarding the front office staff that have recently started at this office.
The changing of the guard, so to speak came with an interesting twist for myself, my wife and Id assume many many other patients at this office. Statements from as far back as 3 - 4 years where co-pays and the amounts of such were INCORRECTLY collected by the office staff at that time, and a demand to set up a payment plan to take care of the balance. Bothmyself and my wife (both of us patients) paid at the time of service what we were told we were required to pay based on our insurance plans out of pocket deductible. They are now withholding medication I require to manage severe ADD, which has impacted daily life, and my work place. Even worse than the fact they are clearly intentionally not sending the refill request over to the pharmacy is that all Ive gotten out of them was the most vague of excuses as to why the prescription has not yet been sent and that it would be sent over to the doctor. While at the same time asking for credit card information over the phone to pay the amounts they think I owe. Strong arming long time patients, and trying to be bill collectors is not a good look. While not particularly illegal it is unethical to withhold medications your patients rely upon to function in society. According to the Texas Medical Board and TMA board of Counselors The physician's first responsibility is the care and welfare of the patient. Other alternatives are available for the collection of fees."
