image Was referred by my pcp. My pcp had ordered expensive tests for my issues. I finally arrived at my appointment the PA that saw me was awful. She was condescending and unprepared. She asked how I knew I had my issue then wanted more tests ordered and was offended when I asked her why she wanted them what she expected to see that werent on the other ones. She didnt have the test results. I told her the whole point of me coming was to review the results and figure out what was wrong. She had the nerve to ask if I wanted to schedule a follow up appointment I told her review my results and call me first. Its been 2 months no call. Go somewhere else. Awful.

image Would not recommend. Ive had IBS and GI complications from another physical illness and I had three hospitalisations in the span of five weeks, all because they were inaccessible and dismissive. They were completely avoidable trips and caused me a lot of unnecessary pain.

image I have long standing GI problems. I moved from NY to MA and my PCP referred me to this group. I had given them the info they needed to obtain my medical records (treatments, tests, medications, etc). My PCP wanted me to see a specialist for my special medical needs (GI). I had a decent visit. We went over medications, discussed my PMH and scheduled tests (obviously the clinic is going to want to do their own workup of everything.). My Rxs that we discussed were never sent so I sent a reminder portal message. I was first told that they would not Rx my GI meds. Id have to ask my PCP. Um. Why would I be seeing them if my PCP could do this? I asked if I could be held over until my first procedure. I needed meds and I wasn't scheduled for 4 months. I was told that one Rx could not be written. OK. So I asked about the others. I was told that nothing could be done until my test. They had records of everything but would not continue my care. I explained the urgency once more and was scheduled for a different test that I had just had done (in NY). There was no need for it to be repeated. But thats fine, I just want to pass the test so I could receive GI help. They gave me the impression that everything I did was wrong. I asked if they had obtained my records. They said I should ask my NY doctor for them. (Doc to doc doesn't have a fee. If I request my records, I pay.). So far, theyve come across incompetent. unsympathetic and unprofessional.
And do MDs even exist in Mass.?

image I was referred to Hampshire GI by my PCP. Someone called me from Hampshire GI to offer an opening caused by someone else's cancellation. I accepted the appointment and went to it. When I checked in, my appointment had been given to someone else. Because it was their error, I was "squeezed" in. Because the copay is a hefty $45, I asked if the PA I was to see would have my lab and CAT scan results and history. I was assured my doctor had sent them. When I was in the exam, the PA did not have any records except for my BP taken that day there. I was interviewed and the PA speculated about my health and ordered more labs. Because their lab is far from my home and because specimens must be dropped of where you pick them up, I inquired about a more convenient site. I was directed to go to South Deerfield. When I went there, the lab was closed for want of staff. I was directed to return to Florence. It being Friday, I went home with no test kit and no desire to return to the Florence office, then or ever. (While I had been in the Florence office, the receptionist, with her nose hanging out over her mask, had seemed indignant that I was there without an appointment. I had played to her the recording on my phone that I had accidentally made while confirming the appointment that I had come there for. She asked me "Well, why are you here?"  I had to say my personal GI problem in front of the people in the waiting room.  That was a humiliating breach and I lost trust in their respect for safeguarding patient privacy.)Monday I called my PCP to seek orders for the recommended lab kit from the in-house lab. I found that Hampshire GI had not sent a report of my visit to my PCP. I called Hampshire GI to request they send a report of my visit to my referring doctor. The person I spoke to confirmed that Hampshirite GI indeed had  sent no report to my PCP but would honor my request to do so. The short version of this story is that Hampshirite GI is poor in communicating within their own office and network system and to other providers as well.I communicated this experience to Hampshire GI via their website to hopefully effect change, as well as reported to my doc to consider when making referrals. Hopefully Hampshire GI was just having a very bad day and that anyone reading this will have a much better visit and feel well cared for.
