image Excellent surgeon. Compassionate bedside manner. I followed with him for my brain tumor for years and no recurrence. Life saving!!! I couldn't ask for more!

image Excellent experience while in a precarious situation. I've had excruciating back pain for years and I just finally needed to fix it. Saw another surgeon who recommended a fusion. Thank goodness my friend recommended Dr. Smith. Turns out I just need a decompression and this can be performed minimally invasively. Excellent staff and Dr. Smith has a pleasant way about him. Straight forward and honest.

image I was referred to Dr. Smith about one year ago by my spine doctor (non-surgeon). After a couple of years of trying to stabilize my condition with Physical Therapy, my spine doctor referred me to Dr. Smith for a surgical consultation. This is the same doctor to whom she referred her mother for surgery, so I was confident that I was getting the best surgeon for my condition. I was suffering from Scoliosis, Stenosis and Sciatica. I was 67 and an avid road cyclist, skier, hiker and outdoor enthusiast. I had biked to the top of Mt. Evans less than 2 years previously, though with some pain.
When I met Dr. Smith, I found him to be a no-nonsense, grounded professional. He told me the facts about my condition and he also specifically told me that he would not recommend surgery for me, in spite of my back and leg pain, unless and until my condition warranted it. He did not try to sell me on his services, he let me come to him when I determined that I need them.
Within a couple of months thereafter, my condition deteriorated n accelerated fashion to where I could not walk without excruciating pain and was bent over. I could not bike for more than a mile. I then returned to him.
I had read countless reviews of other surgeons and had even considered traveling out of state if necessary. Thank God that I didn't. Dr. Smith was methodical and incisive with his approach, very conservative with his opinion and thorough with his explanations.
Unfortunately, my condition required both an anterior corepectomy with removal of part of my L-3/4 and replacement with cadaver bone and cage. It also required a posterior fusion of my T12-L5. As insurance, I had a second opinion from a spine surgeon in advance who agreed with the diagnosis and the surgeries that Dr. Smith had recommended and ultimately performed. I was hospitalized for almost a week and he visited me every single day while in the hospital. Since then, I have had X-rays taken and follow-up visits with Dr. Smith every 3 months to evaluate my recovery progress.
It has now been 6 months since my surgery. Although my recovery from the surgery was initially slow, I was immediately relieved of all pain following the surgery. I went skiing cautiously yesterday (green runs), do weekly PT and work out in a conservative fashion, even with a spinning bike. I am now able to do things that I haven't been able to do for years.
In summary, Dr. Smith is an expert at his profession and conservative in his approach, which is what we all want in our doctors.
I am grateful that I was led to Dr. Smith and am blessed by the outcome that he rendered. I do not take it for granted and will forever be mindful that a pain-free life is precious thing to cherish and preserve. I would heartily recommend him without qualification and my review was unsolicited and voluntary. Kevin

image Dr. Smith resolved my pinched nerve and back pain through surgery. The fusion surgery was a success and I have little to no pain within 3 months. I'm on my way to physical therapy thanks to Dr. Smith.

image After several back surgeries and multiple Neurosurgeons I felt like I knew what to expect. I have been conditioned to feel as if talking with me is an inconvenience formality dictated by protocol.
Dr. Adam Smith went very much out of his way to meet with me and make me feel like a unique patient. I left my visit considerably more educated on my overall condition and did not feel pressed to make any immediate decisions. Since my visit with Dr. Smith his office has followed up with me and provided further referrals in his network to other doctors who continue to redefine exemplary care and attention. My only regret is that I did not meet Dr. Smith years ago when my back issues began.
