The principal continues to wear a mask outside every single day. Why? I guarantee most parents still don't have a clue what the man looks like. Unless they attend school meetings, but let's be honest, most do not. It just seems so impersonal, and ridiculous at this point.

Called to inquire about enrollment and information about TK. A woman by the name of Terry answered, not sure if she was having a rough morning, but wasn't very kind and welcoming answering the questions I had. I would highly recommend to have more kind and welcoming staff answer the phone, than what I experienced today.

We love discovery, The staff is awesome! We love how organized the school is. The middle school is a nice small school setting, my daughter loves it and her teachers!

I just want to clarify that this review is for the Elementary school and not Discovery Preschool on campus. This school holds children to very high standards. Sometimes it's good to push kids hard and show them that with hard work they can achieve anything but they take all the fun out of learning so that they can maintain their 9 on the Great school rating. They worry more about pumping out numbers and letters than the overall well being of their students. Children walk through the hallway military style crossing their arms in an X on their chest and puffing their cheeks out so they won't speak. At lunch you hear aids constantly reprimanding children to be quiet and eat. Lunch should be a form of socialization for young children. My son is in kindergarten. He likes to run and jump and wiggle. He was denied a field trip to Sea World because of this. He was denied the opportunity to learn through having a fun experience. That is a very harsh punishment for such a young age group. One that I'm sure my son will never forget. We decided not to fight the school on their poor decision. Mostly because we didn't want to cause a negative impact on the rest of his schooling and also to teach him that there will be decisions in life he doesn't agree with but must respect. He will not be attending this school next year. As for the preschool I have nothing but good things to say. My daughter loved all her teachers and you can tell they really enjoy their job and do it well. They treat all their students with compassion and respect. My daughter excelled so much in the few months she attended Discovery Preschool. When she started she didn't know any of her letters or how to spell her name. She is now able to recognize some sight words. She was happy and excited to attend school everyday and would be really upset with me on days that I couldn't take her to school. The only problem I see with the preschool is that they are on the same campus as Discovery Elementary and there is a big disconnect with the Elementary school. There were times where it was spirit week at the elementary school and the office would not communicate to the preschool. So my son who was in kindergarten would be excited for pajama day and the Preschool had no idea because of poor communication with the front office. I understand that the preschool and elementary school are not affiliated and that's fine but the front office should really work a little bit harder to include the preschool in all it's events since many of the preschoolers have older siblings attending the elementary school.
