We were there for a wedding, and were put in a first floor room with a beam and tongue & groove ceiling. No insulation between our ceiling and the floor in the room above. The wood translated every sound from above down into our room. Every shift of weight as people above moved causes very loud creaking and squeaking of the ceiling. Folks above were up at 2am, 4:30 am, and 6am, and the creaking woke us up & kept us awake. It was like paying $200 a night to be put into an acoustic torture chamber. They could not move us, but they did halve the rate. Still, no way they should be putting people both upstairs and down, the folks on the first floor will be miserable. Will never, ever, go back.

I so wanted to give this a 5 for all of it's wonderful points, but it falls short in a number of areas. Initially, checking in seemed to be a bother for the girl at the front desk. She was busy, I get it, but felt like we were burdening her. On the second day. our cabin room although turned over quickly so we could change rooms early enough to prepare for an event was not clean. The carpets were dirty and the blinds had so much dust on them that I could write my name. The bathroom was dusty and had hair in the shower.
On our first night we had to go into Rutland to have dinner because the restaurant AND tavern were booked for events. That isn't right. You go there to go there, not have to travel off site. Yes, we could get "take out" from the kitchen but really?
I must say the bartender at the tavern is wonderful! She is funny and attentive!
I think covid has a lot to do with the lack of attention to detail due to the difficulty of getting enough help.Hopefully that will change.

My husband and I attended a wedding here last Monday. It was an outdoor wedding. The October weather in Vermont was not great, 40°, windy, rainy, hail, and a rainbow! The views here are amazing! The wedding was beautiful and the reception area was beautifully decorated and rustic with wooden posts. The food was very delicious and the service was excellent. The restrooms were very clean. The building is handicap accessible.

Absolutely beautiful. The staff were really nice and attentive. Overall fantastic experience.
