image Fixing my rating due to having work done in the service department literally 2 years and 7 months ago. (Mind you this is the second time now) and my whole suspension system needs to be changed 23k miles later... Mind you I do highway driving not city driving and the new place said they looked original and that it was overdue...

Hey Christina, I’m not sure I understand what the issue is here. Can you please reach out to our Service Director Bob Whiteman so we can do our best to resolve your concerns here.

image UPDATE: Went to Sherman Jeep in Skokie and they informed that they found a part that Marino had worked on was only hand tightened and should have been secured much tighter. This seems about right as I one time had to return to Marino because they failed to tighten the bolts on one tire after a tire rotation.
-----
I've been a long time customer (about 5 years) with the service team and have generally had a good experience, but after my recent trip there I felt the need to review my service to make others aware.
I went in for a check engine issue and worked with Jason. Initially they estimated the work to be about $2k or so. After getting further in the engine they found other issues and the work came out to $3k. I wasn't thrilled, but understood that the work needed to be done. They did a multi point inspection and let me know of other minor issue or things that could wait. They indicated to me that the brakes were decent and would eventually need to be changed, but overall okay. Unfortunately they couldn't finish the work in a day so I had to come back the following day.
I came back the following day and picked up the car and paid my $3.2k bill and glad things were up and running.
Approximately a day or two later, I began hearing a rubbing sound coming from the tire place. I called Jason and he set me up to come in the following day. I came in and worked with Carlos. Carlos said they would check things out since they just finished the work. I arrived at about 1pm and waited until about 3pm when Carlos informed me that I would need new brakes. I was confused because I was there days ago and they told me my brakes were decent.
I reluctantly decided to just get the brakes done. They quoted me about $1k. Carlos said that I may need new calipers when they started the work, but it would be just the cost of the parts and about $80 in labor. No big deal. Carlos then came back later in the afternoon as I waited to let me know that I would need new calipers and now it would be $2.3k! I was unaware that this quote may double with the need for calipers. Carlos made it seem like it would be no big deal when he indicated originally that they may need to be replaced.
At this point, I decided that I might need to go somewhere else because it seemed as though they were taking advantage of me. It went from the brakes are fine to you need new brakes for $1k to oh actually, now it's $2.3k. I let Carlos know I would want to maybe go somewhere else and then he informed me since they started the work and the calipers were now off the car was not able to be driven and if I wanted to take it somewhere else I'd have to tow it.
At this point I was bascially coerced into getting them done there because I was not prepared to have to tow my vehicle to another shop. He indicated he'd do them for $2k even due to the trouble. Since I didn't have much of a choice I agreed. Carlos then let me know around 5pm that they didn't have the parts they needed. So after sitting there for about 4-5 hrs they let me know I'd have to leave the car. I then had to find transportation home.
I came back the next day still pretty upset and irked about the situation and Carlos just kept reminding me how good of a discount they gave me which didn't seem like much consolation for having to waste 4 days at the dealer and $5.2k worth of work on the car.
Before I paid I asked to speak to a manager. After waiting for about 15 minutes, I spoke to a manger who basically told me sorry you feel that way and it should have never happened like it did, but oh well, we gave to a discount.
Overall a very frustrating week at Marino. I got an automated text a day or two after my service asking how my service was. I responded it wasn't great and I'd like to speak with someone and never heard anything. I've since then got about 3 or 4 emails and texts trying to get me to leave a review, so here I am.
