Great museum highlighting local Chicago history including the Chicago Fire and Lincoln. It's easily accessible by public transit (22 Clark Bus, 36 Broadway Bus, 72 North Bus, and 73 Armitage Bus) and just steps from Lincoln Park.
As a local artist who sells stickers and souvenirs in their gift shop, I appreciate how easy they are to work with and the great selection of locally designed items that they carry that capture the spirit of Chicago. After having designed a few custom merchandise collections, I can tell how much care they put into each unique exhibition and appreciate how their attention to detail shines through in the exhibits and merchandise they offer.

A complicated and sometimes mixed museography. The rooms are well presented but they lack a good common thread. Some repeated elements. The place is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. You can spend time and learn a little

Very overpriced for what you get to see. If you have kids maybe it's worthwhile for you, otherwise save yourself some time, money and go to the Field or Science and Industry Museum.
