Wonderful, nurturing school and community with amazing teachers, staff and administrators. The education is excellent and my child has thrived at SJS. We chose right when we chose St. Josaphat for our children. We look forward to our son starting in the fall as well.

Our daughter is in her fourth year at SJS. Having moved to Chicago from Canada I had no idea how to choose a school and really just took a chance on SJS. I wanted a school that was a repeated Blue Ribbon winner, Catholic (but more progressive, than dogmatic), and had a close community feel, and that is exactly what I found here. Right off the jump, the SJS families welcomed us and we made fast friends. I can honestly say that some of the parents/children weve met here, are now more like family to us. My daughter is at pretty high reading and mathematics level and I am confident her academic needs are being met here. In fact, I am repeatedly shocked at the level of challenging work she is provided with and able to successfully complete. Each teacher weve had has been equally smart, kind and invested in our child, and the principal Ms Mullen is EXCEPTIONAL. She and her staff lead us through the pandemic seamlessly with in-person learning since Fall 2020, and it is because of them that my childs daily life was truly minimally effected by the pandemic. I feel so lucky to have found the perfect fit for her!

Our two daughters have attended SJS for several years. I cannot say enough good things about this school. The education is top notch, particularly for the price, which is lower than other private schools in Lincoln Park. The school has twice received a Blue Ribbon for academics. The faculty and staff are caring and kind, always putting the kids and their education and wellbeing first. The kids are nice and polite (well, for children anyway), and bullying isn't tolerated. The community is great, and there are tons of ways for parents to get involved and form relationships with other parents. As a working parent, I have really appreciated how often other parents have had my back when I needed help getting the kids to/from, etc. I highly recommend anyone looking for small class size, excellent academics, and a well-run school check out SJS.
