Do not use this company if there is ANY possible way you will have ANY sort of a life change in 5 years. I was told I would be taking over a contract from the previous homeowner for a term of 3 years. They ended up putting me on a new contract of 5 years (they write 60 months so its not as easily noticeable)- congrats to them, they got 2 years out of the previous homeowner and now an extra 5 from me. I ended up having a major life change after the 3 years and now am having to short term rent my home and therefore cannot use a security system with guests. QEI refuses to let me terminate and from my research it seems this is an issue with many long term customers- if you need to move, if you lose your job, if your military orders send you somewhere else, if LIFE happens, you are stuck paying for the entire 5 years. And on top of that, Ken will talk down to you basically calling you an idiot for not going over your contract with a fine toothed comb.

Douglas with QEI is outstanding. He genuinely cares about not just getting your business, but more importantly keeping your business. I have had other security companies in the past and it was not what was promised initially. Douglas made sure I had all my questions answered and was absolutely wonderful. Rashad came out for the install and was just as great. He treated my home like it was his, slowly walked through everything with me, asked if I had any more questions and made sure I was comfortable with the system before he departed. The customer service has been excellent. Easy to contact someone, no pushing numbers and being put on endless holds just to be transferred again. QEI does not advertise, their service speaks for itself. Other companies I have found that if their actual service was as good as their sales, I would still be a customer. QEI wants to not only get your service, but keep it. I can't recommend them enough.
