you couldnt pay me all the money on this earth to come back here. nurses tried to drug me when i cried, let patients plan an assault on me, laughed at me when i cried, let me starve myself until i would eat (didnt work) and didnt acknowledge my eating disorder; i lost over 10 pounds in a week from the lack of food. intake nurse told me i didnt take enough medicine to OD so i didnt actually attempt. woke me up with a flashlight in my eyes and blasting a speaker every morning. took so much blood i had a 6in bruise spanning across the ditch of my arms for weeks because of how violently they were putting the needle in (also woke me up out of a dead sleep and were taking my blood every single day at 5am for a week straight and wouldnt tell me why). blood pressure was so low i fainted and hit my head on the toilet/ground multiple times without medical attention. you are treated as something less than human here. 14 when i was admitted, 17 now and im still feeling the repercussions of this place.

My daughter was there last year in Sept 2023. If your kid needs help. Do not send them their. She got worse in there. They don't watch the kids, lots of fights and bullying. Letting kids watch scary and bad movies when there getting help they shouldn't be watching that stuff. Kids hurting themselves and if they were watching the kids that wouldn't be happening. I give them zero stars. Az needs better places for teens.

It has been almost 3 months since I had my child admitted and so far oasis has been amazing. I think many of the negative reviews are a result of people not being prepared for the purpose of this facility. This facility is designed for high level inpatient and serious mental health concerns. My child has had over a dozen inpatient stays at other facilities over the last 5 years and also spent almost a year in a lower level out of home setting as well. All of these interventions failed, so a facility like oasis is the next step. It is designed as a therapeutic group setting, but has the ability to lock down similar to a prison. For my child, this is the setting we need to safely rehabilitate and change behavior patterns. This may sound harsh, but in cases like mine this is the only way to keep everyone safe. Many of the patients are in a similar situation as my child as well. I share this for the parents who may be experiencing mental health concerns for the first time. I would advise any first timers to speak to a professional first and determine the best placement for your child. Understanding that when you choose a facility like oasis, plan for a longer stay. In my situatuon, we are planning for a minimum of 8 months for treatment, but are prepared for an 18 month stay. For me, oasis is the best choice. The staff are very communicative and listen very well to my input for treatment. They also have an amazing psychiatrist and therapist as well. I would recommend this facility to anyone who is in a similar situation as mine. I would discourage using this facility as a first time starting point for mental health treatment. They have the ability to help everyone and can do so with support of the family. Like I said before, I think many of the negative reviews are due to a misunderstanding of what type of patients this facility is designed for.
