image Yeah, no thanks. The receptionist is extremely rude. Even if I get the plastic surgery I'm not going here. Can see why this place has bad reviews. Telling my doctor they shouldn't referr this place. Wow seriously never encountered such a beyond horrible 0 tackt receptionist. Women's needs a different job not dealing with the public. She called me, had attitude and hung up on me while I was talking. Take me off your list. I'll never ever ever go here!!! Not wasting my money here.
Also she called me several times. They must be desirable for clients. Not a good look at all.

image Dr. Finkel is an amazing surgeon/artist!! She performed my Goldilocks Mastectomies after my cancer diagnosis and I am just amazed at how great my breasts look. You should understand that she is very direct and to the point. This shouldnt matter if you want the best surgical result possible. She was never rude nor disrespectful as others has perceived her to be. The only thing that should matter is her surgical skill, which I consider to be world class. If you want someone to make you feel better about your situation, tamper your expectations and consider talking to a qualified therapist.

image From my first (nervous) phone call, the staff have always been so sweet and kind. They put me at ease, answered ALL my questions (there were a lot) one question the nurse couldnt answer, so she emailed Dr. Finkel and got back with me right away! I never waited more than 5 minutes, not even for Dr. Finkel!
Dr. Finkel is not warm & fuzzy, but is kind, and she is direct, but she is amazing at what she does and thats what really matters in the end, right?
You are paying for her talent not warm & fuzzies!
My only complaint is after your consultation appointment, if you schedule surgery the consultation money should go towards that cost. I was a cash paying patient.
Best of luck to you regardless if you stay and go with Dr. Finkle, or choose somewhere else.

image Dr. Finkel is rude, condescending and shows no empathy or people skills at all. From walking in while I was undressing and not even introducing herself, to taking a flippant tone, being snarky and sarcastic, not making eye contact nor showing any concern for my well being. My husband noted she seemed on the autism spectrum. That makes sense given her complete disconnect to people. I also wish I had read the reviews here first that support my experience and where I can see her staff likes to respond and argue and rebut reviews here on Google to try to invalidate them. Great customer service (sarcasm). Perhaps start listening to patients? You don't grow by just reading compliments, you grow from reading your mistakes and learning from them. Stop making excuses for a person that obviously has no people skills. There are thousands of talented surgeons that show care and concern for the person under the knife.

We understand that though we wish we could connect well with every single patient, that is unrealistic for anyone. image Disappointing doesnt even begin to describe my Experience with Dr Finkel. 18 months of disinterest, misinformation, and mis-direction. She says she sat me at her desk in her office and discussed all my Mastectomy options and reconstruction choicesbut I never saw her for more than 5 minutes at a time in an exam room. She failed to inform me of other choices or surgical options at every turn.
Then after my Double Mastectomy and implants, one side blew up and she said it was obviously Lymphedema-But I had a Lymphedema specialist who questioned that several times. Finkel insisted on costly, time-consuming, and downright painful Physical Therapy for months AND got Snippy with me and my PT person when we raised questions-until my swollen breast tore open and leaked fluidfor weeksShe was happy to see me once and twice a week at a large co-pay for each visit until my implant became exposed.
I have been told by 5 other doctors, that at that time, implant replacement is mandatory at that point-instead, she did a surgical procedure in her office and stitched it closed- leaving an even more unsightly and ridged scar. Then it burst open againand she finally replaced the implant. In total 4 months of agony, stress, and worryoh and thousands of dollars out of my pocket. But of course she got paid by me and the insurance company for all of that wasted time.
I kept asking questions for months before and her answer was always you cant worry about that yet or no, Dearyoure mistaken. In many instances she had 20 women stacked up in her waiting room and appointments ran an hour late. The office is disorganized and was for the over a year that I went in nearly weekly. There were also huge billing errors made by her staff to both me and to the insurance companies.
A few weeks after my last follow-up from the botched replacement, I had yet another complication and called the office. Left a Voicemail. Didnt hear backLeft a second Vm the next daydidnt hear back. Called a third day and was told by am insensitive male assistant that it would either resolve itself or not and not co come back till my next appointment in 3 months. Ive now had three additional surgeries and 5 second-pinions, trying to fix her lousy outcomes to my breasts.
It seems that Dr Finkel is either lazy, overworked, over-burdened, or just plain disinterested. She has a terrible, condescending manner and is very dismissive. I do believe that when things go perfectly that she is probably adequate for most folks, but she evidences little to no interest in any outcome that isnt within her simplistic repertoire. Shes a two-trick-pony when it comes to reconstruction and doesnt feel the least qualm at blowing off her patients when the dont settle neatly into her limited skill-set. She has a huge superiority complex and terrible people-skills, absolutely no empathy, or compassionbut then I guess when youre the kind of volume enterprise that she is, she doesnt have time for any of that.
I wish that I had done more researchgotten second opinions, or even had that suggested by my cancer surgeon (thats another review here). But I was hustled into the rat-maze of Breast Cancer referrals and given just barely enough info by Finkel and her cohorts to be able to ride the roller coaster. I have since brought up her name in my Cancer education groups and hear so many other patients have been treated in the same, horrid manner when they have a complication. Find anyone else and go with another Surgeon.

Simply put, we do not agree with these comments or this mischaracterization of Dr. Finkel and our team. We take every opportunity to thoroughly communicate treatment/surgical options, possible risks, and recovery expectations. It’s true that a small percentage of breast surgery patients may benefit from a revision procedure, but our revision rates are will under the national average. Further, we go above and beyond to provide abundant support or referral if needed until patients are completely satisfied.
