This bank is a constant source of frustration all to serve their fee collection interests to steal money from us. They dont have the customers' interests at heart just their bottom line. I sent more than a dozen emails to ask to switch to online statements to stop the monthly charge of $2 after dozens of staff members gave me erroneous instructions which did not apply to the app now I finnally got new instructions to try it on desktop. False hope! still not doable as I cannot find "Get started." I spent hours and hours of emailing and trying! Their staff is clueless but "helpful" in wasting your time. While they keep charging me...

I got a HELOC loan with this bank and its costing me huge. This bank is squeezing money from me endlessly. I insured my house with progressive and paid the entire annual sum, $600, and UIECU was updated with every claim I sent to progressive (of claims were declined) so they can request me to add extra coverage. Squeezing money endlessly for progressive! Then progressive failed to notify me the renewal date and sent no monthly statements, no email reminders, just one letter in the mail which got lost and I did not get. So I lost the insurance rate of $600. The uiecu, of course with all their insurance tracking did not catch it in time, but only next January and sent me this cryptic notification to update NOT my insurance.BUT TO update coverage features. I had no clue my insurance lapsed. In February and March, no one would insure me because progressive and its partners claimed it passed more than 2 months since lapse. I spent more than a month on the phone revealing all my home details in lengthy phone calls to1800 numbers (becoming a victim of identity theft) to get insurance and it was either a no response or over $2K. Of course, the UIECU. had to strike to squeeze money and posted $1800 their own insurance. No letter no email, just posting it so I can pay interest. Finally I got a quote from Geico for $1200/year. Now the UIECU would refund me but only $1100 and kept $700 for the lapse period! Really? would my house get destroyed retroactively in December 2023? We are in April 2024. Why would they charge me for a lapse period when their UIECU insurance tracker did not catch the lapse? So, now I am paying $1200 Geico +$700 the credit union wont refund me for house insurance. None of these was my fault. Progressive and the UIECU did it on purpose to charge me.The UIECU is stealing huge amounts from us. Not to mention the HELOC had an interest of 6% when I took it and now it's 13% plus they add $140 monthly to insure the loan almost $2000 each year. They have my house as a guarantee for God's sake!!! I never missed a single payment. Squeezing stealing, stay away. I got a credit line for Discover for $20k it's only $320 a month, no stealing. Not sure in what stealing land the UIECU operates but once you fall in their loan net, you're doomed.
You can see in the picture only in February the credit union notified me that insurance was cancelled. I guess they needed better staff at writing because cancelled doesnt say as much as ' insurance lapsed for non-payment since November'. Then, as seen in screenshot in January the UIECU sent me a notification to add extra coverage while the insurance had lapsed since November. Progressive denied my claim to. cover hole in the roof, I had to pay $800 out of pocket to fix it. Not sure in what stealing land the UIECU operates but once you fall in their loan net, you're doomed. They steal steal, steal... No clear notifications by text or email just acting behind your back and strike and squeeze! and then they put the loan agreement under your nose to justify the stealing! I will refuse to pay them until they make it right. Then they play the attrition game calling me on the phone to persuade me that its all my fault!

I am very unimpressed with how little employees know. The messenger system with their online banking is a great concept, except replies are copy and paste. It's like they see a keyword and select whatever response they have that's closest without reading it.
They will not do anything over the phone. They direct you to their website for forms, some of which can not be filled out like you need to.
This is the most bank like credit union I've ever delt with.
